Michael Strahan has delivered several big moments this season during his NFL on Fox coverage. While the Good Morning America host has had many impressive interviews on the morning talk show, he seems more at home with his fellow football legends on NFL coverage. He proved that when he told everyone he was “crying inside” during a recent segment on Fox.

Here is what Strahan was talking about and why he was crying inside.

Michael Strahan Says He Was “Crying Inside”

Michael Strahan was working on his analyst job with NFL on Fox this week. This requires him to discuss the teams and players currently making news. However, host Curt Menefee soon asked him a question about his former team, the New York Giants.

Curt Menefee is the only host on the show who is not a former NFL legend, as he is a career sports journalist. Strahan played defense for the New York Giants. Howie Long played defense for the Oakland Raiders. Terry Bradshaw was the quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Jimmy Johnson was the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. Each of them often has to talk about their former teams.

Curt asked Strahan about the Giants this season, but he wasn’t very happy to join the discussion. With two games remaining this season, the Giants have only won twice and lost 13 times. “Do the Giants need a complete overhaul?” Curt asked Michael.

“Why you gonna do this to me, Curt?” Michael asked. “We’re supposed to be friends, man. You know that I’m crying inside, outside, everywhere.” However, Michael then went into detail about the team’s struggles, revealing New York didn’t win a single game at home this entire season.

Michael Strahan Is A New York Giants Legend

After a successful college football career at Texas Southern University that resulted in his induction into the Black College Football Hall of Fame in 2014, the New York Giants made Michael Strahan a second-round pick in the 1993 NFL Draft (their first actual pick since they had no first-rounder that season).

Strahan paid off the draft pick with a Pro Football Hall of Fame career. He was part of the Giants Super Bowl Championship team in 2007. He was the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2001. Strahan was a four-time first-team All-Pro.  He played in seven Pro Bowls over his career. He led the NFL in sacks twice (2001 and 2003) and finished his career with 141.5 career sacks. Strahan also holds the record for most sacks in a season with 22.5.

In 2014, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In 2021, the New York Giants retired his number, 92. This means no other player can use it for the Giants. In his 15-year career in New York, Strahan became a true legend for the franchise.

  1. I think he is good at both his jobs but feel his football analyst is top notch. I like the way he talks about football and the ins and outs of the teams they are discussing. He is really good with the rest of the panel and knows what he is talking about.
On Good Morning America his interviews are top notch but still like his football analyst are great.

  2. Linda said everything I was going to say. Michael is a wonderful rep with the guys during the NFL the games. I love watching Michael, Teary and the rest of the guys when they get into their little debates. Michael is also great on the morning show. Much luv.
