Actress Rebecca Budig is known for her work on The Bold and the Beautiful. Just ahead of the holiday season, the actress recently shared some heartbreaking news. Both fans and colleagues were also able to share their support on social media in response to the news.

Rebecca Budig Shared Her News Just Ahead Of The Holidays

As an actress, Budig started her career in the early 1990s. She first played Michelle Bauer in Guiding Light. By the end of the decade, she joined All My Children as Greenlee Smythe.

Budig also played soap opera actress Brooke Spencer on the sitcom, Hope & Faith, likely poking fun at her own career. Starting in 2015, she also joined General Hospital as Hayden Barnes, a role she appeared in throughout the decade.

In 2024, Budig took on the role of series regular Taylor Hayes on The Bold and the Beautiful. Budig took on the role from Krista Allen, with the character first originally being played by Hunter Tylo.

The actress recently took to Instagram to share some devastating news with fans. In the simple post, she included a photo of her father, George Budig.

A simple caption wrote, “I love you, Dad. 10/1/36-12/16/24.” Notably, the post also appeared to be shared days after George’s passing.

Many fans also took to social media to send their support over the news. As noted by Soap Hub, a few of the actress’ colleagues were among those to share their condolences.

George Was Described As A Philanthropist, Businessman, & Family Man

Romy Park, who plays Poppy Nozawa on The Bold and the Beautiful, “My heart and thoughts are with you. Your daddy is an angel watching over you now.”

General Hospital star Finola Hughes also wrote, “Sending love Rebecca.” Michael Easton, who is known for his work on One Life to Live and General Hospital, wrote, “All of our hearts are with you.” These colleagues also paired their posts with heart emojis.

Soap Hub also noted how this news came out just ahead of the holidays. As the publication shared, “The loss of a parent is profound, but facing it during what is supposed to be the most joyful time of year makes it all the more difficult. For Budig, Christmas will carry a somber note as she and her family navigate the pain of saying goodbye to someone who meant so much.”

Cincinatti Enquirer shared more information about George through his obituary. He was described as “a successful businessman, devoted family man, and humble philanthropist.”

It was said that George “passed away peacefully at his home in Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky surrounded by his family on December 16, 2024.” He was 88 at the time of his death.

As the publication also noted, “George’s warmth, wit, and dynamic personality made him unforgettable to those who knew him. He was a man of immense humility, always placing others before himself, and his legacy of kindness, integrity, and commitment will continue to inspire for generations to come.”
