Deborah Norville Leaving ‘Inside Edition’ For New Show?
Deborah Norville has anchored Inside Edition since 1995. However, Norville is set to serve as the host of a new series. There is leaving some fans wondering if she will continue in her role on Inside Edition.
Deborah Norville Is Going To Host A Different Kind Of Show
Norville started her journalistic career as a college student, interning for Georgie Public Television. She would go on to work for NBC News and ABC Network Radio before being named an anchor for Inside Edition in 1995.
However, Norville is set to take on a new role outside of journalism. She will serve as the new host of CBS’ upcoming trivia game show, The Perfect Line.
The Perfect Line had its pilot shot in August. The new game show was allegedly developed to possibly pair it was another game show, The Flip Side, which will be hosted by Jaleel White.
In the upcoming series, contestants will be given a category and arrange events, people, or items in order. This could include things like ranking actor in terms of their global box office gross.
Topics include things like sports, world events, and pop culture. Ultimately, the point of the game is to make “the perfect line.” The last player standing has a chance at $10,000.
Norville Said Her Journalistic Background Should Help With Her New Role
CBS News and Stations CEO and president Wendy McMahon shared that, “We’re building on that success by bringing The Perfect Line to the marketplace.” She described Norville as “a host everyone already knows and admires.”
“Deborah is a natural hosting this show – her wit and charm resonate with audiences. We are confident The Perfect Line will be the perfect fit for stations’ lineups.”

Norville herself noted that “I grew up watching way too many game shows and have always wanted to do one.” As noted by Variety, she noted, “With The Perfect Line, I’ve found the right format. The show is a fast, fun, smart take on trivia and pop culture with tidbits of stuff you didn’t know – and it’s played in a way that you’ve got a chance to win even if you’re just guessing.”
There is the issue on whether being in The Perfect Line will impact Norville’s work on Inside Edition. At this time, there is no word on her giving up one project for another.
In fact, Norville said her journalistic background might actually tie in quite well with her new role. As she shared, “Plus, as a journalist, I love that I get to share fun facts you’ll want to pass along to your friends.”
