Mariah Carey Performs Final Christmas Show After Illness
Mariah Carey has recently helped fans welcome the holiday season with her own Christmas concert tour. Unfortunately, the star has had to cancel a few of her shows due to illness, leading fans to wonder if the whole tour was already over. However, the star made her comeback for one final show.
Mariah Carey Had To Cancel Three Shows In Pennsylvania, New Jersey, & New York
Over the years, Carey has become synonymous with the Christmas season thanks to her song, “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” from her album, Merry Christmas. The star recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of the album with her Christmas Time tour.
However, the star had previously announced that she had to cancel a few of her shows due to illness. Initially, before a set performance in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she shared news of the cancelation on X, citing the flu.
As noted by Parade, Carey revealed she would have to cancel two more shows, expected to take place in Newark, New Jersey, and Belmont Parr, New York. At the time, she shared she was “still sick.”

However, the star eventually took to Instagram to give fans an update about the final show, which is set to take place in Brooklyn, New York. As she wrote, “Lambs, thank you for making my #Christmastime so special. I’ve loved singing with you every night, and I can’t wait to see you all tomorrow in Brooklyn for the last show of the tour.”
On December 17, 2024, Carey appeared on stage at Barclays Center to give the tour’s final performance. The star performed in front of a group of fans dressed in red party clothes and Santa hats.

Carey performed holiday staples like “Silent Night” and “O Holy Night.” She also performed some of her own famous hits, like “Emotions,” “Hero,” “Fantasy,” and “We Belong Together.”
As noted by AP News, Carey also received a visit from a famous guest during her show: singer Rihanna. Reportedly, Carey even signed Rihanna’s chest during a sing-along performance of “Always Be My Baby.” The show reportedly came to an end with Carey’s own Christmas classic, “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”

Carey also promoted the show with a carousel post on Instagram, combining photos with behind-the-scenes videos. As she wrote in the caption, “LAST SHOW!!! Let’s get festive together, New York!!!!,” which she paired with a heart emoji.
