Mariah Carey Reveals Illness, Forced To Cancel Concert
Mariah Carey is famous for her contributions to the Christmas season. This year, she planned on helping fans get into the holiday spirit with a concert tour. However, the star recently announced she was forced to cancel an upcoming show.
Mariah Carey Was Celebrating The 30th Anniversary Of Her Famous Christmas Carol
Over the years, Carey has become synonymous with Christmas thanks to her song, “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” The song, which is popularly featured in stores and on radio during the holidays, has become something of a meme, in which fans use it to signal the start of the festive season.
Carey has also recently helped fans get into the holiday season with her Christmas Time tour. Notably, the tour marks the 30th anniversary of Carey’s album, Merry Christmas, which featured the famous song.

The tour was planned to take Carey to 20 different cities across the United States. However, the star recently had to share a sad update with fans, especially those in Pennsylvania.
Taking to X, Carey revealed she was feeling under the weather. As she noted, “Pittsburgh, I am sorry to say, I’ve come down with the flu. It breaks my heart that I unfortunately have to cancel tonight’s show. I love you all so much.”

This comes out after her performance in Raleigh, North Carolina. At the time, Carey was celebrating “All I Want for Christmas Is You” returning to the number one spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
Carey’s Tour Currently Still Has A Few Planned Shows
At the time, Carey also celebrated the moment by bringing her twins, Monroe and Moroccan, on stage. She also shared the moment on Instagram.
The star wrote, “Last night on stage in Raleigh, North Carolina, I found out that ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ returned to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. I couldn’t have dreamed of a better time or place to celebrate the news than on stage with my amazing fans, my kids and my #Christmastime tour family.”

The post continued, “I love you and am so grateful to you all.” Carey signed off the post with heart emojis and her initial.
As noted by Page Six, Carey still has three shows left on the tour. This will include a performance in Newark, New Jersey. The remaining shows will be in New York, at Belmont Park and Brooklyn, respectively. These shows will take place in December 13, 15 and 17, 2024.
