As noted by Us Weekly, in July 2023, Foxx commented that being quiet about the situation led to rumors, such as him being blinded or paralyzed during the health scared. As he assured fans, “I’m coming back and I’m able to work.”

Earlier this year, Foxx was able to return to work on his and Cameron Diaz’s upcoming Netflix film. He was also able to walk his daughter Corrine down the aisle for her wedding to Joe Hooten.

Foxx was also able to hit the stage for his Netflix special, Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was. At the time, he shared with fans that he was grateful to have “an opportunity to tell my side of the story.”

During the special, Foxx also shed some insight as to what happened to him. As he noted, “We still don’t know what happened to me.”

“I don’t remember 20 days. What they told me was that they took me to the first doctor and that first doctor gave me a cortisone shot and sent me home.”

Foxx’s Younger Sister Wanted A Second Opinion

Looking back, Foxx wished he could have rated the doctor “half a star” for what happened. However, his sister, Deidra Dixon, thought it best to get a second opinion. Foxx quoted her as saying, “Get him in the car. That ain’t my brother right there.”

After going to another doctor, Foxx shared that his family was told, “He’s having a brain bleed that’s led to a stroke.” He then quoted the doctor as saying, “If I don’t go into his head right now, we’re gonna lose him.”

The doctor then told Foxx’s sister that the star had a stroke. He quoted the doctor, “He may be able to make a full recovery but it’s gonna be the worst year of his life.” Fox then mused, “That’s what it was, Atlanta. You finally got the story.,”

Fox then took the time to thank Corrine and Deidra for taking action in time, as well as helping him keep his privacy during the incident. He also thanked his daughter Anelise played the guitar for him. Noting that his vitals stabilized during this action, he welcomed her to the stage to play the guitar.
