‘Gold Rush’ Parker Schnabel Goals Unlikely After Struggles
Parker Schnabel is usually one of the most successful miners on Gold Rush. However, this season, he has faced many more obstacles than normal. He started the season with a very high goal, and now it seems he might not come close to what he was looking for.
Here is what you need to know about Parker and his struggles this season on Gold Rush.
Parker Schnabel Struggling On Gold Rush
Parker set a more ambitious target for the upcoming week, increasing the pressure on his crew. This is because things have started so bad this season, with them only finding 30.80 ounces (worth $77,000) during the first week. This is nowhere near the totals that Parker wanted to hit this season.
To date, Parker has pulled 135.85 ounces in the first three weeks. The problem is that he had an ultimate goal of 10,000 ounces, and at this rate, that is almost assuredly not going to happen. While Parker is pushing his team harder and harder, it is not likely going to result in anything but an exhausted and frustrated crew.
While Parker has been one of the most successful miners on Gold Rush in his time on the show, Tony Beets is having a great season and is showing why he is the alpha miner on the reality TV series. For Parker, this season’s failures mostly come down to some bad luck with the Long Cut plant.
What Has Happened To Parker Schnabel This Season On Gold Rush?
This season on Gold Rush, Parker Schnabel’s Long Cut plant faced difficult obstacles from the start. In the latest episode, the crew began defrosting the land. However, Mitch Blaschke revealed that the gold pay layer had sunken lower than expected.
If it dropped more than 20 feet, this would be a disaster for Parker’s team. Parker had to spend $20,000 a day to rent a sonic drill to test the depths. Luckily, the gold pay layer was about 15 feet above the bedrock, saving this dig.
It also doesn’t help that the struggles at the Long Cut plant have created tension in Parker’s crew. If the crew gets overwhelmed, it could lead to further setbacks. Parker already said in interviews about Gold Rush Season 15 that it was a tough season with the new mining site. Few fans could have realized it would be this hard. With equipment issues and the problems at the new plant, Parker has a lot to prove to himself.
