Diddy Claims Feds Are Spying On Him Behind Bars
In the ongoing legal battles concerning musical mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, the rapper’s legal team has made an interest claim against the federal government. It’s been alleged that the government has been spying on the mogul. As his team argues, this could risk giving Combs a fair trial and might have impacted a recent hearing.
The Mogul’s Legal Team Claimed The Feds Teamed Up With The Federal Bureau Of Prisons
Diddy was arrested back in September over a variety of charge. This has included charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.
The mogul’s legal team has come forward with at least three failed bail proposals to get Diddy on house arrest. At this time, Diddy is currently behind bards at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. Diddy’s upcoming trial is expected to take place in May 2025.
According to TMZ, Diddy’s legal team has claimed in recent court documents that the feds violated the mogul’s constitutional rights. They’ve also claimed such actions have impacted Diddy’s ability to prepare for his upcoming trial.
As the mogul’s legal team alleged, the government had been working with Federal Bureau of Prisons staff to monitor Diddy’s communications. This includes handwritten notes between the rapper and his team.
They also claim the prosecutors have used these materials to argue against Diddy being released on bail. Since his legal troubles began in September, Diddy’s legal team have had multiple bail proposals, that would have been the mogul placed on house arrest, rejected.
Diddy’s Legal Team Claims A Recent Raid Might Have Been Connected To Their Claims
In one particular case, Diddy’s attorneys allege that a staff member took a photo of such notes and sent them to the prosecutors. It’s also been alleged that this might be connected to a recent jail sweep, which was conducted under the claim of security concerns.
It was further alleged that the person who raided Combs’ cell even managed to obtain some of these aforementioned notes. While prosecutors previously claimed to have obtained material in Diddy’s bunk, Diddy’s team also argued that the mogul actually placed these notes in his locker.
It is believed the recent raid had a strong impact on Combs’ latest failed bail hearing. This also comes out around two weeks following a judge ruling in November that the prosecution should dispose copies of these notes. It was also suggested a hearing would be used to determine whether they could be used in court.
It was also previously reported that Combs’ was asked of things not required by other inmates. At the time, it was claimed that limits were placed on Combs’ ability to use a laptop. It was claimed this impacted Combs’ ability to communicate with his legal team.
