Pete Davidson ‘Burned Bridges,’ Can’t Get New Jobs
Pete Davidson has always tried to keep his mental health concerns in check. When he sees problems oncoming, he quickly shuts things down and seeks help immediately. That happened this year when he was on tour and he canceled the rest of the tour and went to get help.
However, three is now an industry insider that claims Davidson canceling his projects is “burning bridges” and it is costing him future jobs now. Here is what you need to know.
Pete Davidson Getting Shut Out Of Jobs
Back in July, Pete Davidson checked himself back into a mental health facility to get help. This is not a new issue, and it wasn’t because something bad happened. Pete has suffered from mental health problems since he was young and he knows when problems are coming on and can get them taken care of before they get bad.
However, the problem was that Pete was on his comedy tour when it happened. He then canceled the tour to make sure that he didn’t suffer from any problems thanks to the stress. This is smart, as he needs to take his mental health seriously. However, this does cause other problems.
There are several people who work with him on the tours. When he canceled, they were suddenly out of work without warning. The clubs that booked him are also now lacking for shows where they expected him to fill in those spots. While Pete’s health is all that matters to him, an insider said it is now becoming harder for people to trust him with these shows in the future (via The U.S. Sun).
Pete Davidson Canceled His TV Show As Well
On top of the comedy tour, Pete Davidson also just canceled his own television show. He had a show on Peacock called Bupkis. The show was loosely based on Pete and he starred as a fictionalized version of himself. Peacock renewed the show for a second season and then Pete said he wasn’t interested.
This put his cast, including names like Edie Falco and Joe Pesci, out of a job because Pete wasn’t interested in continuing on. Also put out was his crew and supporting cast members, who learned they had another year of a paying job and then had it taken away.
The insider said, “When Bupkis was set for Season 2, and Pete suddenly backed out of it, people were furious with him… The guy is just really hard to work with.” They then said this has caused people to stop sending him offers for anything new.
However, Pete’s own team said there are offers “every week” but Pete is picky about what he wants to do. “When Bupkis was set for Season 2, and Pete suddenly backed out of it, people were furious with him,” they said.
