Jenna Bush Hager Mocks Hoda Kotb’s Dating History On ‘Today’
Jenna Bush Hager has one month remaining to work with Hoda Kotb on The Today Show. Hoda’s last day on the show will be January 10, and then she will leave Jenna alone for a new chapter in the show’s life. At that time, it will become Today’s Jenna & Friends and have rotating co-hosts. For now, Jenna is enjoying her remaining time with Hoda.
This includes ribbing her friend, and in a recent episode, she made fun of Hoda’s dating history. Here is what Jenna had to say to her co-host.
Jenna Hager Bush Makes Fun Of Hoda Kotb’s Dating History
Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb were having fun on The Today Show this week. They were going through their segments and taking some time to share stories and poke fun at each other. This led to Jenna asking Hoda about her dating relationship in her younger days.
“Did you have a lot of relationships in your 20s?” Jenna, 43, asked her co-host on the show. Hoda, 60, said that her relationship with her husband, Henry Hager, was the most prominent one she had in her 20s. However, before him, she said she always dated different guys because she “moved from city to city when I was in local news.”
Jenna laughed at the entire idea of that situation. She said Hoda’s relationship reminded her of the Ludacris song “Area Codes.”
“Ludacris is singing in my head ‘cause you moved from city to city, and you had somebody in a different area code,” Jenna said. In the song, Ludacris sings, “I’ve got hoes in different area codes.”
This made Hoda and the people off the screen laugh at the comment. “Well, you meet people, and then, you get another job, so you have to leave,” Hoda said, defending herself (via Us Weekly).
“So, you had men all over the country?” Jenna insisted. “You gotta go back and listen to that song ‘Area Codes.’”
Hoda Kotb Has One Month Left On The Today Show
Jenna Bush Hager seemed disappointed when she was reminded of when Hoda Kotb plans to leave The Today Show. Jenna thought it was later, but when Hoda said it was January 10, Jenna disappointedly said, “Oh God, earlier than I thought.”
Hoda will still remain with NBC. She will likely do big Primetime interviews on occasion, similar to what Barbara Walters was once known for. Meanwhile, Jenna Hager Bush will stick around The Today Show, as NBC will bring in a rotating list of co-hosts, trying to find the perfect chemistry with Jenna to replace Hoda.
