Kelly Clarkson’s Kids Shut Down Mom’s Dating Life
Based on the latest updates from Kelly Clarkson, the powerhouse singer is single and ready to mingle following her divorce from Brandon Blackstock. However, according to her, her kids have other ideas, including shutting down her dating life altogether. What did the singer say recently about this?
Kelly Clarkson Single Following Divorce
The American Idol winner and popular talk show host officially finalized her divorce from Brandon Blackstock in 2022, nearly two years after she filed. It was a high-profile split that many tuned into, as much of the drama played out in the public space.
After going through something like that, and something that public, no one would blame someone like Kelly Clarkson for wanting to cool the jets on dating for a while. However, according to what Clarkson had to say recently, she is ready to put herself back out there. Unfortunately for her, her kids are not as enthusiastic about this prospect as she is.
Clarkson’s Kids Shutting Down Her Love Life?
Kelly Clarkson has a full schedule when it comes to everything she has going on. Between her career, her singing engagements, her popular talk show, and being a full-time mom, trying to squeeze dating and potentially finding a match into all of that can be chaotic, to say the least.
However, according to Clarkson, she recently dished that her kids don’t even want her to dip a toe into the dating pool. According to the singer, she said: “I mean, I’ve explained to [my daughter, River Rose, 10] that ‘when Mommy’s ready, it’s OK. I’m allowed to do that.'”
She went on to add how both of her children feel about the prospect of her dating someone new, saying: “My kids, both of them, are not — they constantly bring it up: ‘Please, we don’t want you to be with anybody else.’ They’re young, so it’s hard to picture their mom with someone else other than their dad.”
Kelly Clarkson Wants Some Loving Too
There’s no question that there would easily be a long line of suitors if and when Kelly Clarkson decided to put herself out there again. Despite the objections of her children, it seems Clarkson is keeping herself open to finding that with someone again.
She admitted that she “needs loving,” too. However, with where she is at now in life, she has “hope” that someone could eventually come along, but, she’s also not actively “looking,” either.
So, it will be interesting to see what happens if a new love interest comes into the picture at some point. At the very least, Clarkson is open to the possibility.
