‘Desperate Housewives’ Creator Wants To Make Reboot Series Like ‘This Is Us’
Desperate Housewives premiered 20 years ago, in October 2004 on ABC. This series starred Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross, Eva Longoria, and Nicollette Sheridan. Marc Cherry’s Reboot Idea Is Like This Is Us
When it comes to a Desperate Housewives reboot, Marc Cherry doesn’t see the original cast returning for a series. However, he sees one key component. That is Wisteria Lane. Moreover, he has an idea to do a prequel. He wants to revisit what Wisteria Lane would be like in 1966.
He revealed that “the character I miss writing the most is actually Wisteria Lane. The was the the most fun playground anyone in the history of television has ever had because we owned the whole street.” He then added, “And there’s times when I go, ‘You know what? I wonder if I could write Wisteria Lane in like, 1966.'”
This is an idea akin to the hit This Is Us, or to the Hallmark Cherry Lane holiday movies. Also, Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone has several successful prequels. Therefore, this is an idea that is successful.
