Kate Gosselin Financially Strapped, Begs Ex, Jon For Money
While Collin Gosselin and his siblings are all in college, moving ahead with their lives, mother Kate Gosselin is in a tough spot. She lives alone in North Carolina, with all her kids moving onward and upward. According to reports, she is now looking for a way to start making money again.

Kate Gosselin Living Alone In North Carolina
Kate Gosselin spent the last 20-plus years raising her eight children. This started with her husband, Jon Gosselin, and the show Jon and Kate Plus Eight. However, she ended up divorcing Jon and then sent one of her sons, Collin, to a psychiatric hospital, where she left him and reportedly never returned.
Eventually, Jon got custody of Collin and freed him. Collin has since graduated from high school with honors. He tried to join the Marines, but a social media post by Kate, who believes he should remain institutionalized, caused his discharge. He is now in college.
Cara also left her mother and requested to live with Jon, leaving Kate with six kids loyal to her. However, twins Mady and Cara left their mom and moved to New York to work after graduating from college. Finally, Aadan, Alexis, Leah, and Joel moved away when they also started college.
That left Kate alone in her North Carolina home, an empty nester. According to reports, she is now completely alone and can’t seem to find a job to help pass the time or make her any more money (via The Hollywood Gossip).
Kate Gosselin Can’t Get A Job
It appears that Kate Gosselin is looking for a job, but she can’t seem to find one. According to the reports, “Kate hasn’t had a job other than reality TV for 17 years. “It is very clear that Kate has no interest in living a normal life and having a real job. It looks like Kate’s financial situation is dire.”
Kate does have a nursing license, but it expires in 2025. She tried to get her name back in the public eye in 2019 when she signed on for the reality TV series Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. However, she bombed out on that hard, was the first to leave, and was medically withdrawn in the first week of the competition.
Jon had also accused Kate in 2018 of stealing $100,000 from their kids’ trust. It also seems that Kate is trying to sue Jon for back child support now that the kids are grown and moved out of the home. This is from almost a decade ago. “She is suing for support for money that was created by domestic relations in 2012. It was at the time she wanted legal custody of the kids so she could film and earn more money,” according to sources (via The Sun).
