‘Married To Medicine’ Phaedra Parks Justifies Casting
Married to Medicine star, Phaedra Parks is justifying her casting on the hit Bravo show. Viewers have questioned why she joined the show when she is not a doctor or married to one. It seemed like an odd choice and now she is explaining why she is a perfect fit. Keep reading for more details.
Phaedra Parks Justifies Married To Med Casting
For years, Bravo fans knew Phaedra Parks as an integral part of the RHOA franchise. She was married to Apollo Nida and they had two sons. Phaedra was also a prominent attorney but she eventually divorced Apollo and opted to become a mortician. This was a drastic shift from what she was used to but intriguing all the same. She had initially made waves on Atlanta when she was questioned about her first baby’s due date as it appeared she was pregnant before she got married. Eventually, she was let go but fans never forgot her.
Phaedra went on to star on the second season of RHUGT which was held at Dorinda Medley’s Berkshires’ home. Viewers realized how much they missed having her on their television and opportunities poured in. She was a part of Season 2 of The Traitors and was cast on Married to Medicine. This was an interesting choice as she was not married to a doctor nor was she one herself. Therefore, as much as fans liked her, they questioned why she was there. Now, she is opening up about what she has brought to the table and why she was chosen.
According to In Touch Weekly, Phaedra Parks started to explore energy healing in the form of Reiki. This was to deal with her depression amid her divorce:
“It gave me peace, and, of course, it sounds a little hokey, and I was like ugh will this really work, but I mean I’m always my own test dummy. If I test it on myself and it works, I will unleash it on the world and I am a believer. I know it works.”
She eventually became certified and that was what led her to Married to Medicine:
“I’m a Reiki healer and I’m a mortician and I think you can’t get any closer to living than dying. The doctors fix somebody and I send them to Jesus. You can’t get any closer to the medicine than what I do on the back end. …. I’m a healer in more ways than one so while they might be doctors, I’m truly the medicine.”
Back Where She Belongs
While not everyone understands Phaedra Parks on Married to Medicine, that is just fine. She will be back where she belongs for Season 16 of RHOA. After Kenya Moore was let go, Phaedra was welcomed back and the timing could not be better. She just appeared on Season 33 of DWTS but was sadly voted off. However, Phaedra will be back for the finale, which airs on Tuesday, November 26th. She has a lot going for her though it is unclear what capacity she will be back in Atlanta. This could just be the beginning of her grand return.
Does it make more sense why Phaedra was asked to join the Married to Medicine cast? Let us know and watch Sundays on Bravo.
