Redditors Rage As Reddit Goes Down
Redditors are in a rage as Reddit has gone down and they are unsure as to when it will go back up. This happened just a short time ago and this is a go-to resource for any and everything. So, what is known so far? Keep reading for further details.
Redditors Rage As Reddit Goes Down
Many people utilize Reddit as a place to express their opinions or seek answers to popular questions. They can connect with others who feel the same as they do and have conversations about virtually anything. From reality television to game shows to politics and medical issues, this is the place to be. It is also a resource for those in the entertainment world who seek out what is popular and what fans are saying about specific celebrities. Unfortunately, on Wednesday, November 20th, it hit a major snag and sent users into a frenzy.
It crashed and whenever something like this happens, followers immediately head to Twitter/X to find out if others are experiencing the same crash. Some noted that was the only time they saw the value in X when there was a social media crisis. Immediately, the questions and comments came in:
- Is @Reddit down?
- I hear Reddit is down Y’all know what that means
- BREAKING: Reddit is down.
- Reddit down????
Reddit was well aware of this after the tweets and complaints came in. They responded very quickly to the concerned users:
Yes. We’re working on it. https://t.co/8MZVlusmD7
— Reddit, Inc. (@Reddit) November 20, 2024
Despite what they have said, it is still down. Now, some have reported that the app on the phone works but that is actually false. There is an error message when opening that, as well. So, it is unclear if this will be resolved anytime soon. In the meantime, users are finding comfort within each other during this frustrating time. Apparently, BlueSky is also down so that has led to double frustration from Internet users.
The Stress Is Real
It seems Redditors had no idea how dependent they were on the forum until it was gone. Even though Reddit said it was working on getting it up and running, that was not assurance enough:
- Glitches are daily occurrence on your platform. Doesn’t your CEO have a 17 year old nephew who is good with computers?
- Reddit’s down again? Shocking. Maybe if they spent less time price-gouging developers and ruining third-party apps, and more time upgrading their potato-powered servers, we wouldn’t have to endure this weekly circus. ‘We’re working on it’—yeah, sure, right after nap time.
- It’s been like two hrs hurry up
Some shared that they needed Reddit to solve serious issues and it was down. As of now, it is not looking good.
