John Stamos Mourns ‘Sudden’ Death Of Friend
Actor John Stamos has recently lost a friend he compared to a “brother.” Taking to Instagram, Stamos shared a lengthy story of how much his friend meant to him. Fans have also shared their condolences online.
John Stamos Described His Friend As ‘My Everything Friend’
As an actor and a musician, Stamos is known for playing Jesse Katsopolis on Full House and its spin-offs. He is also known for his work on the soap General Hospital.
Stamos recently shared some tragic news with fans on Instagram. On social media, he revealed he lost a dear friend he had known for years.
In the post, Stamos revealed he had lost his friend, Mike Owen. In a lengthy post, Stamos explained Owen’s brother called him with the news on a flight to Detroit.
As Stamos shared, “Mike Owen, my best friend since I was 11, was gone. A sudden heart attack. Just like that. The world I’d built around our friendship shifted, surreal and devastating.”
As noted by People, Stamos shared that, “Mike wasn’t just my friend. He was the friend. My everything friend. From the moment we met, we were inseparable, two boys finding magic in Disneyland and in each other’s company.”
Stamos continued that, “Losing Mike feels like losing a piece of myself, like chapters of my story are missing now. He knew every secret, every joy, every heartbreak.”
Fans Also Shared Their Condolences On Instagram
The actor also described what he felt his friend would want him to do next. As he wrote, “I know what he’d want: for me to hold onto the love and laughter we shared and to remind you—don’t wait. Say the thing. Book the flight. Tell the people you love how much they mean to you, today!”
Stamos finished up the post honoring his friend’s memory. As he wrote, “Mike, I’ll miss you every day. You were my brother, my compass, my greatest friend. You taught me to find joy in simplicity, to laugh through life’s hardest moments, and to treasure what we have while we have it. I love you. Always. Rest easy, my friend.”

Stamos also revealed that the two friends recently went to Disney World together. The little reunion, which took place three weeks prior to the most recent post, was something Stamos shared he would “treasure” forever.
Fans have also been sharing their condolences with the actor. Brad Garrett, of Everybody Loves Raymond fame, wrote, “So very sorry for your loss, John. So great to have shared a life like this. Sending love and comfort.” Garrett also shared a heart emoji.
