On Dancing With The Stars, many pro dancers go on to form life-long friendships with their celebrity partners. Witney Carson is still incredibly close with Alfonso Ribeiro, her Season 19 partner. And it seems like she’s forming a great relationship with Danny Amendola too.

In a new interview, Witney revealed her boys love sports, which makes Danny Amendola the perfect mentor for them. See what the pair had to say about their bonding sessions.

Professional dancer Witney Carson and her husband Carson McAllister are the parents of two sons, Leo, 3, and Jet, 18 months. But as Leo nears his fourth birthday, he loves exploring and trying new things. And according to Witney, he’s probably going to be very active in sports.

“He loves to dance, and he loves music. But he also loves anything with a ball,” Witney told Us Weekly about her older son. “So if we give him anything, like a football, a baseball, anything, he is obsessed. … I just don’t want him to get hurt. So I might have to stop the football route if he tries to do that.”

However, the 31-year-old did admit she felt much more comfortable with Leo exploring football if Danny was there to help.

“Whatever they want to do, it’s fine with me. As long as Danny’s his coach,” she shared.

“If he’s going to be a football player, he’ll have some sweet feet,” Danny chimed in, saying he’s been teaching Leo the same way he learned.

Danny Amendola played for 13 seasons in the NFL before accepting a role on the Las Vegas Raiders’ coaching staff.

The Pair Prepare For The Semifinals

When the cast list for DWTS Season 33 came out, few thought Danny Amendola would be a top contender. But now, he and Witney are headed straight for the semifinals. Now they’re in the final five and many believe they have a great shot at the Mirrorball Trophy.

“This week was unique for us because we got to really go over all the stuff we learned throughout the whole season so far, really,” Danny Amendola shared with Us Weekly after the 500th episode concluded. “We went over all our dances just in case something would come up. We could utilize it. We emphasized communication heavily within that five minutes in preparation for the dance itself. And it ended up working out.”
