‘Vanderpump Rules’ The Shocking Real Culprit Taking Show Down?
Vanderpump Rules has been on an indefinite hiatus since Season 11 ended in May 2024. Though the show was renewed for Season 12, it does not have a filming date just yet. Usually, they film over the summer but that has not happened. So, who or what is the real culprit taking the hit Bravo series down? Keep reading for more details.
What’s The Shocking Culprit Taking Vanderpump Rules Down?
The cast needed time away from each other and the show. They had spent a whole season immersed in ‘Scandoval’ and the drama surrounding it. This was all going down during Season 10 of Vanderpump Rules but did not come out until 6 months after filming ended. Cameras picked back up to capture cast reactions and then the reunion was filmed within weeks. Tom Sandoval had cheated on Ariana Madix, his partner of nearly a decade with her best friend and their co-star, Rachel Leviss. Fans and co-stars were shocked and left choosing sides.
This had to end at some point so halting the series would allow for them to have new experiences and make new memories. It even enabled them to create new drama. Friendships have fallen apart and new romances have formed. So, why has the show not picked up filming? Is someone being a diva or is there something more to it? According to Radar Online, money could be the culprit and put the nail in the coffin for the whole series. Allegedly, there are a few cast members who still have not solidified their contracts.
An insider shared that some are holding out for more money, knowing the show was likely set to be canceled before ‘Scandoval’:
“They’re still negotiating with a few stars who are holding out for more money.”
Furthermore, Vanderpump Rules is not what it once was where they all got along or at least were friends by association. There’s such a breakdown that it’s not even a cohesive group. The insider added that “there’s so many issues between various cast members and it’s no longer an organic group of friends who want to hang out with each other.”
Holding Out Hope
Despite the struggles, the Vanderpump Rules cast can usually come back to center. After Jax Taylor slept with Kristen Doute in Season 2 while she was still with Tom Sandoval, the strain was real. Jax and Kristen were both alienated but over time, everyone was traveling and partying together again. Stassi Schroeder left in Season 3 and told everyone off only to return the following season. By Season 5, she was back in with the group. It was unclear if Sandoval could make amends with the friend group after ‘Scandoval.’ It’s still a struggle.
Right now, Katie Maloney and Ariana Madix are not on good terms with Lala Kent. Scheana Shay is not close to Sandoval and rarely talks to Ariana. The only one who is okay with everyone appears to be James Kennedy but Bravo is not losing hope:
“In the past they’ve been able to come back from some of the worst fights imaginable, so there’s still hope they can all move forward and have a fresh start. Nothing has been decided yet … but it can’t continue this way, so things are definitely going to change.”
Hopefully, everyone can work together to wrap up the show for one final season. Do you want to see Vanderpump Rules return for Season 12 or are you over it? Let us know in the comments below.
