‘Jeopardy!’ Crew Prefers Ken Jennings To Colin Jost
There have been a lot of rumors that the Jeopardy! producers are not happy with Ken Jennings. The rumors indicate that they are watching to see how Colin Jost does on Pop Culture Jeopardy! to decide if they want to move on from Jennings and go with a more famous host.
Ken Jennings Has Support On Jeopardy!
With all the rumors that Ken Jennings’ Jeopardy! hosting gig is in danger, it’s a lot for anyone to have to stomach. There is already a lot of scrutiny that comes with a gig like this. When you take over for someone as iconic as Alex Trebek, you are bound to have a big target on your back.
However, it seems that some people have the host’s back. While producers seem excited to see how Colin Jost does on Pop Culture Jeopardy!, and the ratings he pulls in, Ken is holding his own on the main show despite reservations.
“Despite rumors he might be replaced, Ken is going nowhere fast and is pushing to get a longer contract on the show,” one source inside Jeopardy! claims (via The U.S. Sun). Ken is not signed to a long-term contract, but he is fighting for one. He’s really started hitting his stride, even though he’s faced a lot of criticism for blunders,” the source continued.
The source than said that the crew “think he’s better than Colin.” It seems that Colin, whose first episode on Pop Culture Jeopardy! is on December 4 on Prime Video, is very nervous about acting in the shows he has recorded. On the other hand, Ken seems “comfortable” and is making “fewer mistakes.”
“Ken makes fewer mistakes and even asks to redo sections that producers think are fine. He doesn’t appear nervous like Colin and is getting better every week,” the source said.
Jeopardy! Was Reportedly Considering A Star Host
While Alex Trebek was a legend on Jeopardy!, the producers were looking at other game shows and seeing a new trend. Hosts like Bob Barker and Richard Dawson gave way to celebrity hosts like Drew Carey and Steve Harvey. With Ryan Seacrest taking over on Wheel of Fortune, it caused Jeopardy! producers to reconsider Ken Jennings.
However, Jeopardy! did hire a celebrity host in Mayim Bialik to co-host with Jennings and that ended in disaster. Mayim left the show during the strike and they never brought her back, making Ken the new full-time host. However, Ken has an advantage that celebs don’t have.
“Although it’s clear Ken doesn’t have the star power that Colin has, he has the advantage of having competed on the show so many times, and his knowledge helps,” the insider said. “It’s obvious he knows the answer to many of the questions and is quick to chat about different topics with the contestants in between games.”

Ken Jennings does an awesome job. he’s so much better than Ryan Seacrest. My husband and I watch him every night. Ken is smart, quick, and knowledgeable. Some of the topics could be better.
We can leave or take Wheel.
Ken Jennings is a perfect fit for Jeopardy. And he’s been improving over the last couple of years. To replace Ken with an empty vessel like Colin Jost would be enough to make me stop watching Jeopardy.
