Sara Haines Was Put On The Spot

On Wednesday, Joy Behar put Sara Haines’ on the spot about her romantic life. When The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg introduced Sara’s parents, Sandy and Dick Haines, who were in the audience, Joy just couldn’t help herself. Back at Smith [College]!”

Afterward, Sara Haines laughs and continues with the segment, but her parents seem to be taken aback by the mention of Sara’s same-sex relationship. As the cameras pan across the audience to her parents, Sara yells, “Dad, earmuffs!” as she covers her ears on stage. Alyssa Farah Griffin mentions Sara had shared that information with them “off air.” However, Sunny Hostin states, “Now, it’s on air.” Sara plays it off by saying she is relieved her dad doesn’t always watch the show. However, Whoopi Goldberg pops off, “Now he will!”

However, Joy Behar received criticism from her co-hosts for her choices. The source says, “Joy was blasted by her cohosts and higher-ups for her on-air comment about Sara Haines’ lesbian romance.” Reportedly, the insider told DailyMail, “She crossed the line in terms of relaying something that was told to her off-air.” Undoubtedly, it was upsetting to Sara Haines to have an off-camera conversation on blast in front of the audience and even more so with her conservative parents in attendance.

Furthermore, the person added, “Joy has apologized to her but that does not make it right. There are some things that the viewers do not need to know and Joy embarrassing Sara was unprofessional.” But Joy has been fired previously, and she doesn’t seem to fear losing a job.

  1. I think that was very inappropriate for Joy to say on live TV something that was told privately off screen. She had no right to do that. She has children also. I have never enjoyed Joy on the View. She’s not at all funny though she thinks she is. I wish they would replace her. She is wise mouthed, rude, crude and doesn’t fit in at all with the other ladies, whom I love. Let her go. She may be at the start of a mental health condition.
