‘The View’ Sara Haines Gets Into Trouble During ‘Pen*s’ Debate
Sara Haines likes to normally keep things easy going on The View. Where some of the hosts, such as Sunny Hostin, are often very competitive, Sara likes to make jokes and keep things a little more even-keeled. With that said, she got a little lost on a recent episode, and Whoopi Goldberg had to call her out on it.
Here is what happened while the women were talking about penises on The View.
Sara Haines Called Out By Whoopi Goldberg On The View
The women on The View were talking about a recent incident where presidential nominee Donald Trump commented on the size of PGA legend Arnold Palmer’s manhood. The comments shocked the world, and the women on the talk show discussed the inappropriateness of the situation.
Whoopi Goldberg started the conversation by mentioning what Trump said about Palmer and all the women started to make jokes about it. Sara then tried to make a point by saying, “This whole idea of talking about someone’s penis—that’s an obsession men have. Women do not stand around talking about any size things” (via The View).
That is when Joy Behar then cracked a joke, saying, “Speak for yourself!” That got lots of laughs from the table, and then Sara continued but was holding her hands up as she spoke, almost like she was showing the size as well, although that might have been subconscious.
Regardless of why she did it, Whoopi Goldberg suddenly got serious and interrupted Sara herself, saying, “Stop with the hands.” That caught Sara off-guard, and she meekly apologized and finished her comments with her hands under the table, saying, “They’re voting on the autonomy of their bodies; they’re voting on smart things.”
Whoopi Goldberg Tried To Keep Things Serious
It didn’t look like Sara Haines was trying to be distasteful with her hand gestures. She just seemed to be getting a little excited as she was talking, and Joy’s joke added to the moment. However, between her distracting hands and the jokes about the comment, Whoopi Goldberg seemed to want to reign things back in.
Alyssa Farah Griffin seemed taken aback as well, as she said she doesn’t know any man who talks about another man’s penis size. Sunny Hostin agreed with that comment.
Whoopi was finished, though, and she changed the topic to Donald Trump going to McDonald’s to “work,” while emphasizing that it was actually closed and was just a publicity stunt. The women moved on, and the penis talk thankfully ended after that.
