‘1000-Lb Sisters’ Why Fans Nix Amanda Halterman As Family Glue
During the new episode of 1000-Lb Sisters, Amanda Halterman boldly declared that she was the glue that kept the family together. But is this really true?
Fans have watched the siblings overcome many challenges together, including innumerable blow-ups and fights. It takes quite a bit to keep the family running and functional. But is it really all thanks to Amanda?
Is Amanda Halterman Truly Keeping The Family Together?
Right now, Amanda Halterman and Tammy Slaton aren’t on speaking terms. In the new episode, Amanda expressed annoyance at always having to keep the family together.
But how true is that?
“Amanda being the family glue,” a viewer wrote on Reddit recently. “So I’m watching the new episode and Amanda talks about how she’s done being in the family glue but I don’t think she deserves that title. I think Chris is the family glue he’s the one that tries to get everybody back on track and is always there for everyone to lean on when they’re mad at each other.”
The OP went on to say they felt like Amanda never acknowledges how hard Chris puts into keeping the family together. They saw Amanda support Amy through her divorce and Tammy through rehab but feel she otherwise protects her own self-interests.
Although 1000-Lb Sisters fans generally love Chris Combs, many think there’s a different element that keeps the family together.
Some Redditors Think The Siblings Would Be Estranged If Not For The Show
When 1000-Lb Sisters first began, Tammy and Amy were the sole stars. As time went on, Chris Combs was offered a spot, and then Misty and Amanda. And that’s precisely why several Redditors believe the show is really the glue that holds the family together.
“Anyone who witnessed Amy and Tammy’s shenanigans/scamming on YouTube before they signed onto the show knows 100% that the show is the glue to this family!! Those siblings had NOTHING to do with Amy or Tammy before the $ started rolling in!!” a Redditor pointed out.
Other Redditors added:
- “This right here. If there wasn’t a show these people other than Tammy and Amy would never seen each other. But now cause TLC pays for it they are always doing these weird family outings together.”
- “I always think about the lack of family at Amy and Michael’s wedding and how much it says.”
- “Amanda keeps score. She will help out family members but she definitely expects some kinda payback and holds it over them. Chris helps out of the goodness of his heart and really never expects anything in return. He is a good guy.”
What do you think about Amanda Halterman’s role in the family? Do you think Chris is more of the “family glue?” Or is it really the show that keeps them together? Leave your own thoughts and ideas in the comments.
