Fired ‘DOOL’ Star Brandon Barash Returning To ‘GH’?
Brandon Barash was unexpectedly let go from Days of Our Lives. Is one soap’s loss General Hospital‘s gain? Fans are hoping he might return to his former role of Johnny Zacchara on the ABC soap. The actor shares his thoughts on the possibility. Keep reading for more.
Louise Sorel Makes Surprise Return As Vivian Alamain
Louise Sorel debuted on Days Of Our Lives as Vivian Alamain in 1992. She’s played the villainess off and on ever since. Her last appearance was in 2023 when Vivian returned to dishonor her former husband, Victor Kiriakis after actor John Aniston’s passing in 2022. Actresses Robin Strasser and Linda Dano both briefly filled in for Louise Sorel over the years.
But the fan-favorite actress finally returned to Salem this week with her henchman, Ivan (Ivan G’Vera) with her. She ordered her servant to kidnap her son, Stefan (Brandon Barash.) To the surprise of fans, it was Barash’s last airdate as Vivian and Stefano DiMera’s son.
Brandon Barash Blindsided By Exit
The last viewers saw of Stefan was when he was stuffed in a trunk earlier this week. The actor told Soaps.com that the firing came as a complete shock to him. He told the outlet that it was a “gut punch.” Barash added that he “was in the middle of a contract, and it was the writers’ decision.”
He was unsure about the possibility of ever returning to the Peacock soap. “This is the second time this has happened to me on Days of Our Lives. And, you know, it would have to be very, very right. The terms would have to be right,” he said. He was previously let go in 2019 but returned as Stefan’s twin, Jake. The new character wasn’t meshing with fans, so the soap turned him back into Stefan. His Thoughts On Returning To General Hospital
Brandon Barash left General Hospital for good in 2016 to spend more time with his daughter, Harper, whom he shares with ex-wife and former co-star Kirsten Storms. The actor joined GH in 2007 as Johnny Zacchara.
The character is currently in prison after confessing to murder, but could he be out of jail soon? Brandon Barash told Soaps.com that the soap hasn’t reached out yet. However, he’s open to the idea of returning to GH if the contract terms are right. Johnny’s first love, Lulu Spencer, will wake up from her coma soon. Perhaps they can rekindle their romance.
