Wayne Brady Had ‘Delusional’ Hatred For Blended Family Member
Wayne Brady is starring in a new reality TV show with his blended family. Wayne Brady: The Family Remix stars Brady with his ex-wife and best friend, Mandie Taketa, their daughter Maile Brady, and Mandie’s life partner, Jason. However, this is a moment that he never thought could happen.
Here is what the reality TV star said about his relationship with his blended family.
Wayne Brady Has A Unique Family Dynamic
Wayne Brady is known today for two major television roles. One is his job as the host of Let’s Make a Deal. The other is his reality TV show with his blended family, The Family Remix. However, he said that this wouldn’t have been possible in the past.
Brady and his blended family all appeared on The Tamron Hall Show to discuss the new reality TV series on Freeform. They talked about how hard it was to get everything going right in the blended family since there was one big roadblock at the start. Wayne said he hated Jason for 10 years.
Brady also said it was all on him because he was “delusional.” Jason was one of Wayne’s former backup dancers before he ended up with Brady’s ex-wife. “I hated him. I hated that it was the toxic masculinity thing of ‘How dare you get with my ex?’ Even if you’re not together,” Wayne said during the interview (via Instagram).
Wayne Brady said he was “deluded” and “delusional” because he thought there was a chance he could get back with his ex-wife. As a result, he blamed Jason for ruining those chances. This also led him to refuse to accept Jason as a step-parent to his daughter, Maile.
“All of those things. It took a long time for me to stop that noise,” Wayne said.
What Is Wayne Brady: The Family Remix About?
Wayne Brady and his blended family now have a great relationship. Once Brady got past his “delusions,” he was able to develop a close relationship with Jason. He even called Jason one of his closest friends. This also helped Jason’s relationship with Maile.
