Plastic Surgeons Claim Lady Gaga Is Lying About Surgery Denials

Since making her appearance in the new DC movie Joker: Folie à Deux and doing promo work for it, fans have noticed a difference in Lady Gaga’s appearance. Thanks to perceived changes in her facial structure, many fans accused Gaga of having plastic surgery. However, Gaga has denied the claims.

With that said, there are some plastic surgeons who claim that she had obvious work done. Here is what you need to know.

Plastic Surgeons Weigh In On Lady Gaga’s Facial Changes

Since Lady Gaga started doing the interview rounds for Joker: Folie à Deux, fans have noticed a difference in her facial structure. While it easily could be makeup work causing the change, some plastic surgeons have weighed in and claimed that Gaga has had obvious plastic surgery.

Dr. Joel Kopelman, a facial plastic surgeon in New York City, said that he believes Gaga had “a controversial non-surgical procedure to tighten the skin” (via YouTube). He also said that this procedure is not worth the risks that come with it.

In his video, he showed a photo of the pop star from 2004 (when she was 18) with others. He said in 2010 (when she was 24), she was “starting to look different.” He mentioned that she looked like she had rhinoplasty. This is plastic surgery on the nose that makes it appear more narrow.

He also said she is possibly using lip fillers. Kopelman pointed out a photo from 2011 and showed how different she looked than in 2010. The doctor also said her eyes are now upturned. He said this indicates she might have used PDO threads under her skin to lift sagging areas.

Lady Gaga Says She Has Had No Plastic Surgery

Earlier in 2024, Dr. Gary Linkov, a plastic surgeon based in New York, also said Lady Gaga may have had a rhinoplasty, cheek & lip filler, buccal fat removal, and Botox (via Daily Mail).

While that is two plastic surgeons this year alone who have accused Lady Gaga of having plastic surgery, the pop star says she hasn’t had any surgeries. However, she did admit in 2023 on The Howard Stern Show that she was addicted at that time to fillers.

“I’ve never had any work-work done, but I went through a phase when I was smoking pot when I was really obsessed with getting facial injections,” she said at the time. She also said in 2011 that she had never had plastic surgery (one year after Dr. Joel Kopelman claimed he saw the changes).

“I think that promoting insecurity in the form of plastic surgery is infinitely more harmful than an artistic expression related to body modification,” Gaga said. However, she also added that she has the free will to choose how the world will see her.
