‘Jeopardy!’ Fans Blast Show, Livid Over Interruptions
This year has seen a lot more Jeopardy! interruptions than usual, from the cut-ins for the upcoming presidential election to hurricane coverage, and several sporting events, including the NBA Finals, Sweet Sixteen, and now, the World Series.
Here is what fans had to say, and what other fans suggested in these situations.
Jeopardy! Fans Complain About Game Show
Jeopardy! fans have gotten tired of the interruptions to the show. Even when they realize that it is important, such as the recent hurricane coverage, the fans feel that the popular game show needs to make things easier for them to catch up somehow.
In a recent Reddit thread, fans discussed the fact that they couldn’t catch up on the missed episodes after a recent situation. The OP complained that they have missed too many episodes and parts of episodes because of events like hurricane coverage, and now, the NBA season. They also mentioned that providers like YouTube TV do not offer a VOD option for Jeopardy! like it does other shows.
This led to commenters agreeing with the frustration, and others offering solutions. Here is a look at what some of the people who agreed with missing too many episodes had to say:
- “Five of the next six episodes … are preempted on nine Fox affiliates for the World Series and its pregame coverage.”
- “This year I called up after missing one because of MLB playoffs and the gal on the line said, “We don’t know when it aired.”
With that said, there were some people who offered up some suggestions, although not all will work everywhere in the country.
Is There A Way To Watch VOD Of Missed Jeopardy! Episodes?
One Redditor mentioned an “Alternative Viewing Methods” post on Reddit with some suggestions. Here are a few of the methods mentioned there.
The post mentions subscribing to Paramount+, which has a plan that runs for $12 a month and allows a person to watch all live local broadcasts from CBS affiliates. This allows a person to see the live version of Jeopardy! as it airs on various CBS affiliates across the country. This means it is on 11 times a day.
For people who get the show on NBC, Peacock offers the same kind of deal.
There was also one Redditor in Arizona. They said preempted episodes often replay late at night, and their DVR adjusts accordingly to record it.
What are your thoughts on the Jeopardy! preemptions and the inability to watch those missed episodes in VOD? Do you have a way to see them? If so, please share your experience with the readers in the comments below.
