‘Shark Tank’ Mark Cuban Talks Series Exit
Mark Cuban’s final season on Shark Tank has recently premiered. The businessman and TV personality has recently talked about his exit from the show. In particular, Cuban revealed just what he’ll miss most, and least, about the show.
There’s Something That Makes Cuban Especially Proud Of The Show
Shark Tank is a remake of the British series Dragons’ Den, which itself is a remake of the Japanese series, The Tigers of Money. The show features various entrepreneurs who appeal to five venture capitalists, the “Sharks,” to invest in their ideas.
Cuban first appeared on Shark Tank during season 2 as a guest investor. He joined the show full time with the following season.
In a conversation with People, Cuban talked about how the 16th season, which would be his last. As he shared, “[It’s] going to be more about the crew and the staff because most of them have been here for 15 years and it’s family.” He continued, “We all look forward to getting together twice a year for a long time and seeing each other for 12 hours a day.”
The Shark noted that, unlike the cast and crew, he won’t miss “the deals.” As he explained, “The deals are always out there, but I’ll miss the people and I’ll miss having an impact just from the show itself because we send a message every day that the American dream is alive and well.” He also added that he’s “most proud of” the show’s message of promoting these dreams.
Cuban Revealed What He Wants To Do With His Time Now
Another reason he wanted to leave the show was to spend more time with his kids. As he noted, “My kids are teenagers and I want to spend more time with them.”
“We always shoot in June and September, and in June, right when they’re finishing school, I have to come here…When they were young it was like, ‘Okay, we’re going to wait for Dad.’ Now that they’re teenagers, they aren’t waiting for Dad at all, and in September they’ve just gotten back to school. I want to be there for that.” Cuban also noted that he’s especially excited about going on “vacations” with his family.
Back in 2023, Cuban appeared on the All the Smoke podcast where he talked about leaving the show. As he noted, “This is our 15th year, and next year, our 16th year, is gonna be my last year so I got one more year to go.” He also said he felt it was “time” to leave the series.
