Clare Crawley Shares New Details Behind Legal Marriage Shocker
Former Bachelorette Clare Crawley is opening up in a new interview about her shocking Vegas wedding to Ryan Dawkins a year after their first wedding. Fans were stunned to learn that Clare and Ryan were not actually legally married when they first had their intimate wedding at the Sacramento State Capital. Clare Crawley Reveals New Details Behind Marriage License
Former Bachelorette Clare Crawley finally found her happily ever after in Ryan Dawkins. She met him just as she was going through her heartbreak with Dale Moss. She recently spoke with E! News and revealed new details behind her and Ryan’s lack of marriage license at their first wedding.
After Ryan proposed in October 2022 they knew they didn’t want a long engagement. They also knew they wanted small and nothing too wild. Fans know that Clare’s mom Lillia has been ill with dementia for some time. However, she got very sick and doctors were saying she may not make it. It was very important to Clare to have her mom at the wedding.
Clare said, “I said, ‘I don’t care about the tablecloths, the flowers, I don’t care about all the extra stuff that makes weddings beautiful. I care about who’s there, and I care that my mom gets to witness that.’ It was a big deal to me to have my mom there.”
They chose to do the small intimate ceremony at the Sacramento State Capital where they shared their first kiss. However, they forgot a pretty important detail, the marriage license.
Since they were already in the process of finding a surrogate and planning to close on their dream home it just got lost in the shuffle.
It wasn’t until they began filling out paperwork for taxes that they realized their mistake. She told Ryan, “I was like, ‘Do we need to have it? Let’s just Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell it.'” However, they both decided they wanted their journey to include making it legal.
Their Second Wedding Plans
Since they already had their romantic, intimate ceremony they knew they wanted something fun to make things legal. Obviously, Las Vegas was the perfect choice.
Clare Crawley said she and Ryan decided to do the Vegas thing at the Little White Wedding Chapel and have Elvis marry them. They even drove around in the pink Cadilac following their ceremony.
Clare also touched on when she first met Ryan and how broken she was at the time. He was patient with her and told her to take all the time she needed. After some time passed she messaged him and invited him to a baseball game. The rest is history.
Now, they are living their fairytale with their 9-month-old daughter Rowen and his two daughters from a previous relationship.
