Kristin Cavallari’s Ex Jay Cutler Arrested For Guns & More
Jay Cutler has made quite a name for himself over the years. The former NFL quarterback was expected to come into the league and take it over. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos out of Vanderbilt primarily because he had one of the strongest arms in the draft. After three years in the Mile High City, Cutler was traded to the Chicago Bears, where he played for most of his career. Cutler became known off the field because of his high-profile relationship with TV star Kristin Cavallari. The pair were married for nine years before divorcing in 2022. Cutler has found himself in the news again, but not for anything positive.
What Happened With Jay Cutler?
On October 17th, Cutler got in a car accident around 5 pm. The police responded to a call about a truck rear-ending a car. The individual then proceeded to offer money to avoid having the cops called. The individual who was offering the money to prevent any police involvement was Cutler. According to TMZ, when the police first got to the scene of the crash, Cutler was stumbling around and mumbling with his speech.
He clearly was showing the signs of someone who was intoxicated. The officers on scene reported that Cutler claimed he hadn’t had anything to drink at first before changing his statement to saying he only had a small amount of alcohol. That’s not even the worst part of this for Cutler. After conducting a thorough search of his vehicle, officers found a loaded rifle and Glock in the car. Cutler is known for being someone who loves hunting, so it’s not too shocking to learn he had guns in his car. However, the fact that he was under the influence with loaded weapons in his possession is scary to think about.
What’s Next For Jay Cutler?
After being arrested and booked, Cutler was released on a $5,000 bail. While still at the scene of the accident, Cutler refused to take sobriety tests. The cops then took Cutler to the hospital to ensure he was okay while also collecting a blood sample. Cutler has been officially charged with DUI, violation of implied consent law, possession of a handgun while under the influence, and failure to exercise due care.

Cutler’s court date has been set for sometime in January 2025. This is his first offense, which means Cutler might not be faced with the worst results when it comes to his punishment. That doesn’t mean Cutler should just forget about the incident, though. It would be in his best interest to never have this happen again, especially with loaded guns in his car. Folks will be keeping a close eye on the case as it concludes.
