Joan Vassos Reveals She’s The Talk Of The Retirement Community
Family means everything to Joan Vassos. She famously left the first season of The Golden Bachelor to take care of a family matter involving her daughter. She got another chance at finding love on reality TV as the franchise’s first Golden Bachelorette.
Joan Vassos joked before the season started that she lied to her mom and her children about kissing her suitors on the show. Joan Vassos had four children with her late husband. The Golden Bachelorette star made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week. The talk show host previously made headlines after seemingly dissing the network’s choice in Joan.
However, all was forgiven and the two had an interesting chat. Joan Vassos shared a story about her new role causing trouble at her mom’s retirement community. Joan’s mom, 99, went around telling everyone she met that her daughter was The Golden Bachelorette. No one believed her. One of her mom’s neighbors complained to someone about Joan’s mom bragging. That someone turned out to be Joan’s hairdresser and she confirmed that Joan’s mother was telling the truth.
Joan joked that her mom has become the popular girl at the retirement community since the season began.

Jimmy Kimmel asked Joan Vassos who has a harder time watching the steamy scenes – her mom or her kids? Joan brought up the recent striptease date where the men were taught by real-life Chippendale dancers.
According to Joan, her daughter walked out of the room while covering her eyes from the TV. Golden Bachelorette suitor Pascal Ibgui‘s daughter had a similar reaction. What about Joan’s mom?
Joan said that her mom is oddly “okay” with the kissing and racy dancing. She revealed that her mother, 92, watched the whole episode without a problem. In fact, she was laughing throughout the striptease.
