‘Home Improvement’ Richard Karn Shocks With Huge Weight Loss, Pic

Richard Karn

Anyone who’s seen episodes of Home Improvement from the 90s Likely recognizes Richard Karn. Richard played the role of Al Borland in the show. Home Improvement was a huge hit when it first premiered, and that’s why it was successfully renewed for eight seasons.

Shows that aren’t worthwhile get canceled after one or two seasons, but that definitely wasn’t the case for Home Improvement. It also pulled in a 7.2 out of 10-star rating on IMDb. Part of the reason the show scored so well is because of its awesome cast, including Richard. Most recently, Richard debuted a much slimmer appearance. These are the details.

Richard Karn Has Slimmed Down… Significantly

Richard was never considered an overweight actor in the Hollywood industry, but his new look is certainly slimmer than what fans are accustomed to seeing. The actor was spotted on a casual grocery shopping trip in Los Angeles recently with an extremely thin frame. He wore a pair of navy blue shorts with a short-sleeved collared shirt along with his gray sneakers.

Richard wore his sunglasses around his neck as he went about his day running errands. Richard’s fans wouldn’t be aware of his weight loss transition based on his social media presence alone. A quick scroll through his Instagram doesn’t reveal much about the way he currently looks. His most recent posts include a throwback shot of his mother, a scannable barcode for a brand he’s promoting, and a throwback image of himself from his days starring on Home Improvement from the 90s.

Other Updates About Richard Karn

Along with Richard‘s newly slimmed down physique, he’s also making headlines for another interesting reason at the moment. TV lovers are curious to know if Richard is linking up with Tim Allen for another brand new show. According to Reuters, that rumor has been debunked. Fans were under the impression that CBS Entertainment offered $1 billion to Richard and Tim to connect for the creation of a “non-woke sitcom.” Apparently, none of that was true.

So, will there ever be a reboot or revival of Home Improvement? As of this publication, there are no plans for the 90s sitcom to be revived at any point. One of the reasons a reboot may never happen is because Patricia Richardson, the actress who played Taylor, is far from interested in making it happen. According to USA Today, she shut down the idea of it saying:

“I would hear (Tim) was coming out publicly and saying this stuff about how everyone was on board to do a ‘Home Improvement’ reunion. But he never asked me, and he never asked Jonathan (Taylor Thomas), who I talk to. Richardson recalled. So, I called Jonathan one day and said, ‘Has he asked you about this? And he went, ‘No, and why’s he going around telling everybody that we’re all on board when he hasn’t talked to you or me?'”

Based on Patricia’s disinterest, who knows what the future of Home Improvement could be like… if it has a future at all.
