Demi Moore Talks Visits Ex Bruce Willis Amid Dementia Diagnosis

Demi Moore Speaks Out About Bruce Willis’ Condition
On Sunday, October 13, Demi Moore was honored with the Career Achievement in Acting Award at the Hamptons International Film Festival. During the festival, there was a live discussion where Demi spoke about her ex-husband Bruce Willis, and the state of his health.
In the spring of 2022, Bruce Willis was diagnosed with aphasia, which later progressed to frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Since then, he has been largely out of the spotlight. He was recently spotted out and about, but he requires people to be with him at all times to ensure he’s okay.
That said, Demi revealed that her ex’s health is “stable.” The Substance actress also shared some of her thoughts about Bruce’s condition and her outlook on the future of the family.
“You know, I’ve said this before. The disease is what the disease is. And I think you have to be in real deep acceptance of what that is,” she told the audience at the festival discussion. “But for where he’s at, he is stable.”
Reflecting on her relationship with Bruce, she said, “What I always encourage is to just meet them where they’re at. When you’re holding on to what was, I think it’s a losing game. But when you show up to meet them where they’re at, there is great beauty and sweetness.”
Looking Toward The Future With Career & Family
The actress then spoke about a recent visit she had with Bruce Willis. She stopped by with their granddaughter, Louetta. Demi said that she is trying to just enjoy and share whatever time they have left together “for however long we have it.”
Demi Moore shares three daughters with Bruce Willis: Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah. He also has two younger daughters, Mabel and Evelyn, with his current wife Emma Heming Willis. Following his diagnosis, the blended family has pulled together to surround the Die Hard actor with love and understanding.
Her ex-husband aside, Demi Moore also spoke about some of her career highlights in the 1990s. She is well-known for her roles in Ghost, Indecent Proposal, and the 1997 film G.I. Jane. Several clips from her films were shared with the audience.
Talking about her acting career, she said, “I felt like I was watching a lot of life. Actually feels like lifetimes, because the gift is that we get to keep changing and growing. What I was thinking is, ‘Thank God I kept getting opportunities to get better.'”
Demi’s latest film, The Substance, is currently in theaters.
