“He was my everything. For a long time, I didn’t even want to believe that it happened. I didn’t know that even if he was a bad person that he would do something to me,” Abi said in the documentary (via PEOPLE). “I was too scared to tell anybody; I was too scared to tell my mom.”

While the docuseries talks about her trauma, Abi does not go into detail about what her father allegedly did to her in the first episode. However, she did say that jail is “well suited” for her father to be. She said she knows this from her “personal experience.”

What Did R. Kelly Do To His Daughter?

By the time the second episode comes around, Abi finally went into more detail about what R. Kelly allegedly did to her. Horrifyingly, she said the incidents happened when she was eight or nine years old.

“I just remember waking up to him touching me,” Abi said. “And I didn’t know what to do, so I just kind of laid there, and I pretended to be asleep.” She said after she told her mother, they went to report it to the police and had her listed as a “Jane Doe.”

“They couldn’t prosecute him because I waited too long,” she said. “So at that point in my life, I felt like I said something for nothing.”

As for R. Kelly, his attorney denies all allegations from the docuseries. “Mr. Kelly vehemently denies these allegations. His ex-wife made the same allegation years ago, and it was investigated by the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services and was unfounded,” his attorney said. “And the ‘filmmakers,’ whoever they are, did not reach out to Mr. Kelly or his team to even allow him to deny these hurtful claims.”
