Martha Stewart Admits To Cheating On Husband
A new documentary on Netflix takes the world into the life of Martha Stewart, 83, the famous long-time cook and homeware guru. It looks at several issues in her life, including her legal problems. However, she also admits in the documentary that she cheated on her ex-husband during their 29-year marriage.
While she was married to Andrew Stewart for three decades, she said that she cheated on her husband during that time. The couple was married from 1961 to 1990.
This started when she gave advice to younger women who have been “betrayed,” telling them to escape from their marriages. However, a producer then spoke up and asked Martha if she had an affair. “Yeah but I don’t think Andy ever knew about that,” Martha answered (*via U.S. Sun).
When Stewart married him, she was 19 and he was 23. They met on a blind date and ended up married for 29 years. Andy was a law student and ended up going into publishing. They had one child, a daughter, Alexis Stewart, in 1965.
After her divorce, she dated Anthony Hopkins for a short time and then was with software architect Charles Simonyi on and off from 1993 to 2008.
What Is Martha Stewart Documentary About?
The documentary follows Martha Stewart throughout her life. It follows her journey from her teenage years when she was a model to becoming the very first American self-made female billionaire.
It has many positive moments from her life, including how growing up in a working-class family instilled a strong work ethic. However, it also focuses on her troubles in life, including the time she spent in federal prison in 2004 after a guilty charge of conspiracy and obstruction of justice relating to the sale of stock.
“I was a trophy for these idiots. I was dragged into solitary, no food or water,” Martha quipped in the trailer for the documentary. “Those prosecutors should have been put in a Cuisinart and turned on high.” It is also this focus on the trial that has her not happy with the documentary, saying that it focused too much on the “stupid trial,” calling it “lazy.”
Martha hits Netflix on October 30.
