Actor Tom Selleck has been a staple in Hollywood for decades. Unfortunately, the actor is dealing with some major concerns, as his health is in decline. What’s the latest on the actor’s status as he deals with this latest hardship?

Tom Selleck Revitalized Career With Memorable Blue Bloods Role

Tom Selleck was an action star and a Hollywood leading man for a good portion of the 1980s and 1990s. Along with his iconic mustache, rugged good looks, and serious acting chops, Selleck made a name for himself with roles in popular shows like Magnum P.I.

Additionally, he was introduced to a new generation of fans when he took on the role of Frank Reagan as part of the generational cop drama, Blue Bloods. This was a role he fit perfectly. Many call it one of his best roles ever. Selleck proved that you can find gold even late into an already successful career.

Selleck’s Health Getting Worse, What’s Going On?

After playing such larger-than-life characters on both the big and small screen, Tom Selleck is currently dealing with a health crisis that’s much more dramatic in real life than any of his roles have ever been, and a lot of fans worry about the actor.

It turns out, he is currently undergoing physical therapy, as the legendary actor struggles to walk. An inside source recently dished to Closer: “He has those scars on his knees, which would indicate he’s had surgery on them recently. But clearly, it’s not going so well and taking a long time to heal.”

The source continued, saying: “He’s got specialists helping, and he’s doing his rehabilitation at the gym where he putters around, and it’s slow going. The fact remains he’s unsteady on his feet and has trouble walking unassisted.”

Blue Bloods Cancelation To Blame For Poor Health?

Indeed, many fans were heartbroken when Blue Bloods got the ax. For more than a decade, viewers have been following this show, along with several generations of the fictional Reagan family.

According to another source, Tom Selleck took that cancelation really hard, too, and, in some ways, the show getting the boot may be to blame for the health predicament he is currently in.

The source said: “These people were family to him, and they went out for lots of fancy meals toward the end. He’s been continuing that trend, judging by the looks of him! He needs to shed pounds. Anyone can see that, but it’s not going to be easy. Clearly, this forced retirement hasn’t done him much good!”

Certainly, while Tom Selleck is getting some help, it’s clear that, at nearly 80, the iconic actor still has a ways to go before he is back on track.
