Ryan Seacrest Accused Of Wheel Of Fortune Botch
Cody Hunger was on Wheel of Fortune, trying to win the big bonus prize. The week had a BetMGM Big Winners Tournament, and Cody had already won $27,150 in cash and a prize trip to Atlantic City. He then went into the bonus round and chose the category “Phrase.”
Cody went to the big board and he has a chance to win a $94,900 jackpot to add to his winnings. The puzzle was up and the main letters were on the board. Cody then chose the letters of his name, “C, D, Y, and O.” That led to the puzzle showing “O-T / O- / T-E / –Y.” While it wasn’t much, Cody immediately said, “Out Of The Way.”
Vanna White began excitedly clapping, but Ryan just stood there and said nothing. Cody started to keep guessing, but then Ryan finally chimed in and said he was right and had won. Cody looked relieved, but many fans on social media wondered if Ryan’s delay was a “botch” or if he was trying to increase the tension of the moment.
- “How about that pause. What a nightmare for the guy as he had to wait for Ryan to wake up and tell him he got the puzzle.”
- “Lol I love Ryan but that’s his first blooper hahaha”
- “The pause, I believe, is due to the producers wanting to build up drama”
Interestingly, when looking at the video playback on YouTube, the moment was edited down, and the delay was removed.
