‘Love Is Blind’: Tyler and Ashley Talk His ‘Cold’ Past

Tyler and Ashley from Love Is Blind have discussed Tyler’s “cold” past which he revealed to her in the pods. However, does she see this as a reg flag or growth? What does Tyler have to say about his past?

Love Is Blind Takes Over

Love is Blind is a Netflix reality TV show that explores an experiment of people falling in love through a wall. After connecting in the pods, contestants decide whether to get engaged, meet family and friends, and get married.

The series is hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey who have been controversial picks due to the reunion and allegations that Vanessa was being biased, directing attention to herself, and not an equal host with her husband.

Many couples have completed the experiment as they found love for the person they met in the pod, themself, or a new outlook on how to find love. The series is so influential that it has spread to help locations all over the world find love through a wall. The series answers the age-old question, is love truly blind? (Spoilers Ahead)

Season 7 Turns Heads

Many controversial people and conversations sparked interest in the newly released season of Love Is Blind. One of the controversial people is Tyler Francis. The experiment participant revealed to his fiancé, Ashley that people will probably make negative remarks regarding his past.

Furthermore, Tyler revealed, “It’s a great point to meet me [now] ’cause you would’ve hated me. I was just like, ‘Oh, you’re cute, wanna go on a date?’ Just prepare [for] people [to] be like, ‘He is not that nice.’ Like, nah, I just wasn’t nice to y’all. I didn’t give them a reason to be nice.”

Ashley did not seem to care about her fiancé’s past attitude. In response to changing her mind about him, she nonchalantly responded, “There’s nothing that no one can tell me. You never know who comes out of the woodworks.”

Many contestants might not have shared this on the series, but Tyler did and Ashley took it nicely on air, but perhaps her feelings have changed since. Tyler explains why he revealed others’ negative opinions about him in a recent PEOPLE interview.

Discussing The “Cold” Past

The account manager explained, “Just because I was in a bubble before her. So anyone that I dated, the slightest interest of not being serious, I was okay with cutting people off. I am at a point in my age where I didn’t want to waste anyone’s time, so it could come off as mean or cold.”

In addition, the Love Is Blind contestant expressed, “I just wanted to let her know that’s the person I was but I came here to find, love, and prior to, I was trying to. But of course, dating is hard in itself, so I just wasn’t into wasting people’s time. And I may have come off cold and I just want to let her know, ‘Hey, there are people that may be like, ah, he’s an a——.’ No, I’m just honest, honestly.”

Ashley also had something to say on the matter. However, she did not see the negative opinions as a bad thing. Instead, she saw it as a green flag.

Moreover, the marketing director explained, “The whole point of coming into this experiment is to jump in with both feet and accept someone for who they are. So when Tyler did say something like, ‘Oh, some people may not say that I’m nice,’ I’m like, ‘You are amazing to me. You’re the sweetest person. How could someone not think that you’re nice?’ I was shocked by that.”

In addition, she shared, “He did go into detail where he said he used to work long hours and he wouldn’t be the most pleasant person after that and things like that. That’s self-aware to me. I think everyone comes with something and I think the good part is recognizing it and realizing the person you want to evolve to be. So no red flags.”
