Michael Strahan was on Good Morning America this week and was involved in a discussion that “creeped him out.” This was unusual for the former NFL Hall of Fame defensive star. He is usually able to talk about a variety of topics, and nothing bothers him too much.

However, here is what happened with Strahan on Good Morning America this week.

Michael Strahan Creeped Out During GMA Discussion

Michael Strahan participated in a discussion on Good Morning America with Trevor Ault. While discussing the new Microsoft AI companion, Copilot, the GMA hosts, including Michael, Robin Roberts, and George Stephanopoulos, were intrigued.

Trevor said that Copilot was “designed to be emotionally intelligent” and might be “more human than anything we’ve ever seen before.” He said he was conversing with Copilot, and he told the AI he was tired. As a result, the AI asked him later if he wanted to get some rest.

This is what bothered Strahan. After Trevor said that the AI seemed worried about him, Michael said, “You’re creeping me out.” George agreed, saying, “I don’t want a machine emoting.” Michael said that AI turns him off when it uses human quips like “oh” or “um.”

Is Michael Strahan Thinking Of Leaving Good Morning America?

Trevor Ault said that there are several “safeguards” built into the Copilot AI. This made Michael Strahan feel a little better since he was worried that there might not be anything there to stop it from going too far.

Trevor said that the safeguards were built into the AI. This includes safeguards that respect privacy and others that provide “guidance” to the life advice it offers. When asked for an example, he said if you ask if you should quit your job, the AI will not tell a person what to do and just give generic advice.

This made Michael ask what would happen if it said, “Yeah.” Trevor joked that it meant it was nice working with him.

This isn’t the first time Strahgan has mentioned quitting Good Morning America, although this time, it was a joke. “I like company, I like vacations,” Michael said back in June. “I’m at the point in life when I just want to enjoy it. I don’t want to work forever, I want to enjoy life at some point.”

He said he wasn’t sure about retiring from the NFL but is glad he did. Now, he said that he would know when it was time to leave GMA and that he would be gone before anyone could get tired of him.
