Candace Cameron Bure Compares Hallmark’s ‘Aurora Teagarden’ To New GAF Mystery
In a recent interview, Candace Cameron Bure seemingly disses her former Aurora Teagarden role in favor of her new Great American Family Ainsley McGregor role. How did the Fuller House star shade her Hallmark role? Here is what she had to say.
Candace Cameron Bure Seemingly Shades Hallmark In New Interview
Hallmark+ recently dropped the spinoff prequel Aurora Teagarden: A Lesson In Murder. While there are still some diehard Aurora fans that miss CCB, Candace Cameron Bure doesn’t appear to share that sentiment. In a recent interview with TV Insider, the current Great American Family star seemingly shaded her role on Hallmark Mystery. In addition, she compared it to her GAF role in her new mystery series Ainsley McGregor.
In the Hallmark mystery series, she portrayed the title character, a Lawrenceton librarian by day, and a Sleuther who belongs to the Real Murders Club and solves murders in their small town the rest of the time. This series is based on the Charlaine Harris cozy mystery novels, as well as True Blood.
As for Ainsley McGregor, these new mysteries are also based on a cozy mystery series, this time by Candace Havens. The title character is a Chicago criminologist who experiences burnout, so she returns to her hometown of River, Texas. There, she opens a craft market called Bless Your Arts and teaches criminology at the local community college.
CCB was happy to return to this mystery role. “I love the mystery genre and played a character for many, many movies over 10 years.” What she referred to was her Aurora Teagarden role where she filmed 18 movies with Hallmark. However, she feels her new role is more authentic. “I love that Ainsley McGregor is a criminologist, so she, by trade, is trying to solve mysteries.” She continues, “She’s much more thoughtful because she has a criminology background.” Then, she throws the shade.
I really feel like this is this mystery series is just more mature version than the ones I’ve done in the past, not only in the elements of the mystery itself, but also within relationships.
Aurora Teagarden Alum Already Made Second Ainsley McGregor Mystery
The first Ainsley McGregor Mystery: A Case For The Winemaker, is premiering on Great American Family on Saturday, October 5, at 8 p.m., Eastern. However, the second movie, A Case For The Yarnmaker has already been filmed. Moreover, CCB promises that there will be more, as they are working on the third and fourth movies in this series.
For those Aurora Teagarden fans, Hallmark+ is dropping two new prequel sequels starring Skyler Samuels. The first, A Lesson In Murder is already available on the streamer. In addition, Death At The Diner will drop on Thursday, October 10.
