Kamie Crawford Fired From ‘Catfish’?
Was Catfish co-host, Kamie Crawford fired from the hit MTV reality series? She announced her departure on Thursday, October 3rd via social media. Kamie claimed it was time to move on after six years with the show but was it the network’s choice? Keep reading for more details.
Kamie Crawford Fired From Catfish?
When Max Joseph exited Catfish after seven seasons, there was a massive search for his replacement. More so, could anyone take his place as Nev Schulman’s counterpart? Catfish was known for Max and Nev as a dynamic duo, helping couples come together after sometimes years of illusive conversations. They would say that they loved one another, even planning futures. Money could be exchanged but the catfish never wanted to be seen by their partner. Frequent excuses would be made until Nev and Max were called to remedy the situation. The show was based on Nev’s own catfish experience and a documentary he made about his experience.
Kamie Crawford was a former pageant girl and she won the producers over. Not only was she sweet but she got the job done. She was the perfect foil for Nev and appeared to be a female Max which fans loved. Recently, she had missed a few episodes as she was filming other shows. However, Kamie always came back. Then, Nev was in a horrid bike accident and fans noticed Kamie did not reach out to him. They believed there may be tension and now, Kamie is exiting so rumors swirled that she had been fired.
Kamie Crawford took to Twitter/X to set the record straight about whether or not she was fired. Someone alluded to Kamie and Nev having opposing political beliefs thus causing tension between the two. Therefore, that was the final straw and she was let go. Of course, she corrected that narrative and explained she wanted to leave. As for when her final airdate will be or if they have chosen a replacement is still unknown.

After Kamie Crawford tweeted that she was not fired from Catfish, fans chimed in with their thoughts. Did they believe there was no tension between her and Nev Schulman or was there more to the story?

Someone also noted that Kamie mentioned she was now bicoastal, in a serious relationship, and thinking about kids. So, her priorities have changed and that is just fine. However, it was pointed out that she did not contact Nev after his accident which made some wonder if she had decided to leave before he was hurt.
