Morgan Kohan Reveals Maggie And Cal’s Relationship Is ‘Complicated’

In Sullivan’s Crossing Season 1, Maggie and Cal had a lot of miscommunication. Some of this was their own doing, while some were due to others who had ulterior motives. However, when Morgan Kohan recently spoke to TV Insider, she revealed that despite all of the confusion, Maggie hasn’t forgotten Cal. She explained that her feelings “are complicated at this point. I think it’s undeniable that she has feelings for him, for sure, but also feels very hurt by how things were left.” She thought he just took off from her. Kohan added, “I think no matter what, it is going to take some work to earn her trust back.”

Trust is a major theme in this series. Maggie has major trust issues because her father Sully let her down when she was taken away from her mother and stepfather. However, she never learned Sully’s dark secret. But could she learn more in Season 2?

Morgan Kohan seems to hint that they will. “I’m really excited that fans will get to see more in-depth, more backstory, more understanding of a lot of our other fabulous characters we have on the show.” Kohan promised that this season would focus on the other characters and peel the layers.

As for Maggie, she has a lot more on her mind. At the end of Season 1, she discovered she was pregnant. Morgan hints that this will be something that occupies Maggie’s brain throughout Season 2. “In Season 1, she was figuring out who she is, and now she’s figuring out who she wants to be as a mother. I think that’s a huge thing for her throughout the season.”
