'Love Is Blind' Stephen Richardson Reveals His Cheating Past

Each new season of Love is Blind comes with its fair share of jaw-dropping drama. Sometimes, love triangles develop. In other cases, couples meet face-to-face and see their love crumble based on a lack of physical attraction. In this case, one contestant divulged a serious secret from his past while he was in the pods. Honesty tends to be the best policy, but is hard-hitting truthfulness going to help Stephen Richardson find true love on the show?

Stephen Richardson Admitted That He Cheated

In a teaser for Season 7 of Love is Blind, viewers have the chance to see the connection forming between Stephen and a woman named Monica Davis in its early stages. In the clip, the two already appear comfortable and relaxed while conversing with each other. However, the topic they dived into was far from an easygoing one. Stephen said:

“Here’s what I believe: you like someone for their qualities, but you love someone for their flaws. I will divulge something that I am not very proud of it all, but I wear this brand, and I think it’s very important to be honest about it. So we’re going to talk about cheating. I technically hold the title of being a cheater. I’ve been cheated on multiple times as well.”

He went on to describe the way he betrayed his ex-girlfriend to Monica by explaining the way he emotionally cheated. Stephen admitted to communicating with another woman via social media. Monica patiently listened in on his story as she came to her own conclusions. Stephen said:

“Everyone has a different concept of cheating. One person’s could be, you know, looking at someone. Someone else’s could be an actual physical act. I basically slid into a girl’s DMs like a dumba**, and we were flirting with intention. You’re emotionally cheating at that point. I got caught, which I knew I would. I was very disappointed with myself… we went through therapy, we figured it out [and] I’m actively in therapy to talk about these things.”

Monica responded in a way that was gentle and understanding. She reminded him that not everything is “black and white.” Based on the clip, it looks like something might blossom between Stephen and Monica. After all, their interaction in the pods appeared genuine. Will they still share the same level of acceptance and excitement for each other if they choose to get engaged and meet in person?
