‘AGT’ Richard Goodall Quit Job? Talks Spending $1M Prize
America’s Got Talent champ Richard Goodall just won one of the most coveted prizes in all of television. Recently, he dished on his job as a janitor, as well as how he plans to spend that $1M prize money. So, what did he have to say following his life-changing win?
America’s Got Talent: Richard Goodall Came From Humble Beginnings
One of the things that longtime viewers love about a show like America’s Got Talent is the fact that anyone can win. It doesn’t matter where you come from or how much you’ve struggled, when contestants get on that stage, they have a legitimate shot to win the whole thing and change their lives forever.
Recent Season 19 winner Richard Goodall is a perfect example of what makes the show great. As a school janitor, Goodall said in his audition that he’s “not a fancy person.” However, with his recent big win on America’s Got Talent, his life just got considerably more fancy since he first took the stage.
AGT: Goodall Quit Job As A Janitor?
When you win the America’s Got Talent crown, as well as the $1M prize that comes with it, you can afford to take some time off from your day job. According to the latest updates from Richard Goodall, he is taking the safe route after securing the AGT title.
Richard Goodall said he plans on staying at his job “for a little while” to see how this next chapter of his life unfolds. So, even though he is allowing himself to enjoy the moment following his big win, it’s clear that he is also being smart about the whole thing.
Goodall said: “I need to be smart. That’s a lot of money, but that kind of money doesn’t always go very far if you’re just being stupid. There’s TV shows about lottery winners that win the lottery and two years later they’ve got absolutely nothing. So we’re gonna be smart about it.”
How Will America’s Got Talent Winner Spend His $1M Prize?
Speaking about how he would spend his massive prize money, Richard Goodall said that he wants to invest some of his winnings. In addition to that, he also wants to rent or lease a “nice RV” and hit the road. Certainly, there are a lot of new roads open to Goodall after securing his big win. Still, more than anything, he seems to be playing it safe.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Goodall added: “We’re not fancy people, so it’s not going to be anything fancy or extravagant. We’re just regular people and the money is… we just try to be conservative about it. We have no idea or expectations of what’s coming ahead.”
