Derek Hough Dishes On Expanding Family With Hayley Erbert
Dancing With The Stars judge Derek Hough never has any shortage of projects to work on. He’s currently serving as head judge on DWTS Season 33, but he has more plans on the horizon. The Utah dancer will embark on another tour at the end of the year.
But there’s more to his life than just dance. In a new interview, Derek Hough admitted he and his wife Hayley Erbert can’t wait to welcome little ones of their own.
Derek Hough Talks His Plans To Welcome Children With His Wife
This wouldn’t be the first time Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert dished on their baby fever. But now, it seems like they’re a little bit more serious.
“We definitely want to have a family eventually,” the head judge shared with E! News. “We’ll see what’s in the cards, what’s on the horizon. Little dancing children running around.”
Derek didn’t quite give a timeline on their plans for children. But for the moment, he’s focused on enjoying his life with Hayley.
“She’s a miracle,” the dancer said about his wife, regarding her medical emergency at the end of 2023. “She really is and I don’t say that lightly.”
In August 2024, the pair celebrated their first wedding anniversary. They reread their vows to each other and realized how strong their marriage had grown over the past year.

“And it was really emotional because we were reading the vows and thinking like, ‘Wow, we really put these to the test,'” Derek continued.
He added that when he and Hayley aren’t rehearsing or performing, they just enjoy being in the moment together.
“It’s important to sort of just come home and wind down and just enjoy yourself and forget,” he continued. “So for me, the way I like to do that is snack and stream my favorite show, maybe a murder true crime.”
And of course, Hayley is there to hang out with him while they share their favorite snacks.
The Married Couple Returns To The DWTS Stage Soon
Although Hayley’s road to recovery was incredibly long and difficult, she’s feeling much better these days. She even returned to Derek’s Symphony of Dance Tour.
During Oscars Night on DWTS, Alfonso Ribeiro teased that Derek and Hayley will perform on the season. It’s her first appearance on the show since her cranial hematoma, so fans are incredibly grateful they’ll have the chance to see her dance again.
