Why Zendaya Claims She’s Not Cut Out For Fame
While it’s true that Zendaya might just be one of the most famous Gen-Z starlets of this modern era, that doesn’t mean she feels cut out for the pressures of fame. As a reminder, Zendaya has been a mega star in the entertainment industry for years now. She got her start on Disney Channel, and things have blown up for her in her adulthood. However, here’s the truth about what Zendaya really thinks about her level of fame.
Zendaya Doesn’t Exactly Love The Pressure Of Fame
Zendaya attended a screening event in New York City for Dune: Part 2, and she got super candid with her personal thoughts. According to Deadline, she spoke negatively about fame saying she doesn’t know if she “can handle all of that.” She also noted that she wants to be seen as a “person” above all else. At her level of notoriety, it’s often difficult for fans to see her as a normal human being. That’s likely because she exudes so much star power.
When describing everything that comes along with being a full-fledged celebrity, Zendaya said, “I feel like, often, I am not cut out for that part of it. I do love my job, I’m so grateful. I love doing the work, I love being on set, I do love moments like this — don’t get me wrong — but I am terrified of that part of it, often.”
She noted that after growing up as an introverted child, the persona of fame doesn’t come naturally for her. Zendaya explained that growing up shy is one of the biggest reasons why she prioritizes fashion so much. It can be argued that dressing the part helps plenty of people feel confident enough to put themselves out there in different high-pressure environments.
How Fame Has Benefited Zendaya
We now know Zendaya personally feels like she might not be cut out for her life of fame. However, from an outsider’s perspective, it looks like fame has been wildly beneficial for the KC Undercover actress. She’s an award-winning star who took home the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. She did so at a younger age than any other actress has ever been able to. She was only 24 years old when she won that award for her show-stopping performance in Euphoria.

Zendaya successfully portrayed a drug-addicted teenager named Rue Bennett for two epic seasons between 2019 and 2021. Even though Season 3 of Euphoria might be placed on hold for a while, fans are still chomping at the bit to see what will happen next for the character Zendaya plays on the show.
