‘Married at First Sight’ Season 18 Reveals Wife Swap Drama
Reality TV lovers have much to look forward to with the premiere of Married at First Sight Season 18. This show consistently brings the drama. It focuses on a group of contestants who allow love experts to decide who they should tie the knot with in arranged marriages. The trailer for Season 18 reveals some highly intense moments, including a wife swap!
Married At First Sight Season 18 Will Bring The Heat
Typical episodes of Married at First Sight are already jammed-packed with intense drama. Total strangers get paired off to marry each other and try to make it work, after all. Oftentimes, couples fall apart when they realize how little they have in common. In other more awkward scenarios, divorces occur when one person simply isn’t attracted to the other. In Season 18, though, it looks like a wife swap will be at the center of everything.
Page Six snagged the trailer for Season 18. Dr. Pia Holec is one of the dedicated psychologists and sex therapists on staff for the show. In the trailer, she speaks to the camera saying, “Infidelity between two couples is unprecedented in ‘Married at First Sight’ history.” The trailer didn’t expose which couples will be involved in the wife swap. This means viewers will have to wait until the show premieres to truly get some answers.
A wife-swapping dynamic on a show like Married at First Sight isn’t super far out of the realm of possibility, by the way. Similar drama has unfolded on Married at First Sight’s competitor show, Love is Blind, in the past. During Season 3 of Love is Blind, contestants Cole and Matt had a slightly sleazy conversation about possibly swapping fiancees.
27-year-old Cole was engaged to a 32-year-old woman named Zanab. However, Cole was more attracted to Matt‘s fiancee the whole time. She was a 26-year-old ballet dancer named Colleen. Back then, Cole didn’t get his way because Matt didn’t agree to the swap. It looks like a successful wife swap did happen in Married at First Sight Season 18.
What Other Drama Is Happening In Married At First Sight Season 18?
Along with the surprising wife swap that’s set to happen, it looks like several other bombshells will undoubtedly blast off in Season 18. Later in the trailer, another contestant mysteriously asks, “Do you think this relationship is healthy?” Who could they have been talking about?

The trailer ends with a woman saying she wishes “nothing but the worst” to someone sitting near her with tons of anger in her voice. The goal of a show like Married at First Sight might be to create pathways for true love to blossom, but that certainly doesn’t always happen.
