Jimmy Fallon Campaigns To Be PEOPLE’s Sexiest TV Host

The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon talked about getting nominated for PEOPLE‘s Sexiest TV Host on his show. During the segment, Fallon made his pleas to his current competition in the rankings. He also showed off some of the PEOPLE merchandise as part of his campaign.

Competition Includes Seth Meyers, Mario Lopez & Mark Consuelos

The September 18th episode of The Tonight Show saw Fallon celebrate his nomination. Of course, tongue was firmly planted in-cheek, with him being the other contestants to drop out.

As Fallon explained, “I’m up against Seth Meyers, Mario Lopez and Mark Consuelos. Yuck!”

“I’m very honored, but Seth would let me have this… He would want me to have this. He’s a younger dude — let grandpa have one thing.”

In truth, Fallon, having been born in September 1974, is actually younger than Meyers, who was born in December 1973.

Even narrowing things down to Lopez and Consuelos, Fallon joked that, deep down, he thought both “would let me have it as well.”

Turning directly to the camera, Fallon pleaded with the LIVE with Kelly and Mark host to drop out. As he said, “Mark Consuelos, I’m going to ask you right now, please remove your name. from the ballot of People’s Sexiest [TV Host].”

Fallon Has Something Special In Common With The Publication

Assuming Consuelos drops out, this would put him neck-and-neck against Mario Lopez, but he still shared hope he could get Lopez to drop out, too.

As he put it, “Then he’ll go, like, out of respect, ‘Jimmy, you got it.’ He’s been a guest on the show. Just let me have it.”

As noted by PEOPLE, Fallon began to share some “swag” from the publication with the audience. Pretending to be on a segway, he presented a “I’m a PEOPLE Person” tote bag, as well as PEOPLE hat.

Fallon also took note that both PEOPLE and himself were turning 50 in 2024. Taking this as a sign, he noted that, “Look at this. ‘Established 1974.’ You know what else is established in 1974? Me!” As he continued, “Are you kidding me? It should be a no brainer.”

Finishing things off, Fallon wanted to share a PEOPLE‘s Sexiest Man Alive beach towel. He even lied down on it, giving a possible pose he could use on the cover of PEOPLE‘s magazine.

The host then ended the segment asking fans to vote for him. As he proclaimed, “Go to People.com and vote for the Sexiest TV Host!”
