‘GH’: Adam Huss Shares Last Conversation With Tyler Christopher
Tyler Christopher originated the role of Nikolas Cassadine on General Hospital in 1996. It was one of his first acting roles, but he fit the character perfectly, and fans loved him. He played the role off and on until he left the show for good in 2016. Several other actors played Nikolas when Tyler Christopher was off the show. The actor went on to join Days Of Our Lives in 2017 as Stefan DiMera but abruptly left two years later.
GH fans hoped the actor would return as Nikolas but he never did. Tyler Christopher sadly passed away in October 2023 at the age of 50. His official cause of death was positional asphyxia due to acute alcohol intoxication. The actor battled alcohol addiction for years before his death.
Adam Huss, who took over as Nikolas Cassadine in 2021, recently opened up about the last conversation he had with Tyler Christopher before his sudden passing.
Adam Huss Shares Last Conversation With Tyler Christopher
Adam Huss was a guest on Maurice Benard’s State Of Mind YouTube vlog last week. He opened up about speaking to Tyler Christopher just a few months before his death. The conversation was brought about by a journalist arranged a phone call between the actors.
While he didn’t reveal what Tyler said to him, Adam Huss shared what he said.
“I just said, ‘You know, I’ve got to tell you, when I was a kid in the ‘90s, I saw you on covers and I was like, “I want to be that guy.” And that stuff was so exciting to me, and I’m honored that I get to step in your shoes. And I watch everything you do, everything. Not to mimic it, but to inspire and to give me all that back story that you played that role to.’”
He said that he thinks of Tyler Christopher’s legacy as Nikolas Cassadine every time he “steps into” Nikolas’ shoes. Huss added, “Every single time I get a script I go into YouTube and I start pulling up clips of him watching all that because it’s all right there.”
Maurice Benard Weighs In On Co-Star’s Death
Maurice Benard was quite close with his former co-star. He was the one who announced to fans that Tyler Christopher had passed away. At the time, it was referred to as a “cardiac event” until the autopsy report revealed more details.
“Tyler was just dark and deep and intense. He just couldn’t get out of his own way with liquor,” the Sonny actor said about Tyler Christopher.
Adam Huss isn’t on contract at General Hospital but appears on the show as needed. But the return of Nikolas’ siblings Lucky and Lulu is a perfect time for Nikolas to finally get out of prison.
