While fans liked the interaction between Gerry and Joan, her opportunity was cut short when her daughter needed her at home. Now that Joan is getting a “Second, second chance at love,” in The Golden Bachelorette. However, fans have questioned if Gerry is part of the action this season. Correspondingly, it has been revealed he will be. Did Gerry cause Joan to doubt her choices in the show?
Joan Vassos And Gerry Turner Meet Again
Without a doubt, The Golden Bachelorette made her grand debut on September 18 with a big splash. Seemingly, she is saving Bachelor Nation with her rebranding this season. In all her elegance and grace, Joan is bringing a beautiful shift to the world that has been getting backlash lately. In many ways, the opening night for Joan was magical. She met twenty-four new men that will go through this journey of love with her. But she isn’t new to the cameras. Fans saw her first in The Golden Bachelor. Early on, her charisma captured fans’ hearts as she and Gerry Turner helped bust the misconceptions about aging and love.
However, their relationship was over almost as quickly as it started when Joan’s daughter was experiencing difficulties postpartum. She explained, “I got a text this morning, and I think I need to go home and be a mom right now. So as much as I don’t want to leave and I don’t want to leave our journey I got to be a parent.” However, as luck would have it, they get to reunite during Joan’s season of searching for love.
Joan Has A Big Decision Ahead
During The Golden Bachelorette‘s first night, Joan Vassos was true to herself and her family. As she started her journey, she wanted it to include her husband, John Vassos. She gave honor to her past and let America know she values the man she shared life with for 32 years before he passed away with pancreatic cancer. But she also shows strength that even when difficult things happen, she still has joy. Her journey to love is about finding someone she can share her past with but they can build a future together.
She is showered with gifts from men and has great moments of first impressions. While it was a chaotic first night, she exchanged conversations with the suitors. Markedly, one rode in on a horse, another took prune shots with her to help them feel “normal,” and she got a man in uniform. Furthermore, she even worried after one guy fell getting out of the limo, only to commence in one-handed push-ups. And balls were flying everywhere as they competed in a fierce pickleball match. Even so, it was obvious she was having fun and feeling flirty.
At the end of the day, hard decisions were made. She sent home Bill, David, Ken, Pablo, RJ, and Thomas. Furthermore, she offered the “First Impression” rose to Keith who rolled up in his own style in an older car. Although there is good energy on the first night, a preview shows Joan talking to the men about not being sure about the process. She isn’t sure she can get where she needs to with the men.

While The Golden Bachelorette is starting picture-perfect for Joan Vassos, she gets a surprise visit from the man who sparked this journey in the first place, Gerry Turner. During the teaser for what is coming later in the season, fans got to see that Gerry came back to the mansion. Stepping out of the limo, he gets to reconnect with Joan. Undeniably, it has to be hard to see someone whom there were feelings for entering the picture to advise about picking a new suitor. While Joan is struggling to sort through feelings of cheating on John Vassos and take in the experience of dating on TV, she discusses with The Golden Bachelor.
Unmistakably, he has been through the process she is in. Furthermore, he understands firsthand how difficult it is to decide who to keep and who needs to leave. However, the clip shows Gerry casting doubt on Joan’s choices. Instead of helping her sort through who the best person is in the group, he adds more questions. He says, “Have you considered the possibility that your guy is not here?” Perhaps he is hoping his new single status can buy him another chance if she doesn’t pick one of the twenty-four studs.
