‘Bachelor’ Matt James Wants Reality TV Redemption
Many Bachelor Nation fans consider Matt James’ season of The Bachelor the worst in the franchise. It was supposed to be a historic season to celebrate naming him as the first Black lead. Instead, the drama between the women took center stage until the real-life past of frontrunner Rachael Kirkconnell took over. The season ultimately led to the departure of longtime Bachelor Nation host Chris Harrison. Matt James opened up about his quest for reality TV redemption. Keep reading for more.
Matt James Wants Reality TV Redemption
Matt James already met his love on The Bachelor, so he doesn’t need a repeat season. He has been dating Rachael Kirkconnell for three years. They briefly broke up after the fallout from the scandal of photos of her attending an antebellum ball a few years before the show.
The couple constantly dodges questions about when they will get engaged. According to the former Bachelor, he doesn’t let pressure to propose get to him. He told Life & Style why their relationship works when others in the franchise fail.
“We just try to make each other happy and no one else. We just kind of live in our own bubble and do the things that make us happy and that seems to be working for us.”
Matt James may not want to be The Bachelor again, but he wouldn’t say no to joining another reality show for redemption.
DWTS Stipulation
Joey Graziadei and Jenn Tran are representing Bachelor Nation on Season 33 of Dancing With The Stars. The new season kicked off this week. Matt James was a contestant on Season 30 of the ABC dance competition. He didn’t make it very far, despite his athleticism. He went home in the show’s fourth week.
Matt told Life & Style that he would jump at the chance to compete on the dance show again for redemption. But he has one stipulation. If he were to do DWTS again, he would want to pair up with his previous partner Lindsay Arnold. However, she’s a full-time mom now.
Former Bachelor Reveals ‘Ideal’ Reality Show
Matt James said that he would return to reality TV if the right opportunity came along. He said that his ideal show would be one that involved physical activity, like Special Forces. His Bachelor Nation buddies Tyler Cameron and Hannah Brown both competed on the Fox show and were among the victors. Season 3 of Special Forces is expected to air in early 2025. Bachelor Nation’s Trista Sutter and Ali Fedotowsky-Manno are rumored to be part of the cast.
